I have a 1996 Explorer XLT.:us: :exp:
On the steering wheel it has the Cruise control
buttons. I live in hot Texas and mine are starting to peel.
I didn't think too much of it until I drive at night.
Now the backlight is very bright on the buttons.

I have a 96 XLT with a 4.0 V-6.
On initial morning startup the idle seems high.
After I turn the key the engine will stabilize
at about 1800 to 2000 RPM.
A few minutes later it will slow down to
normal idle speed.
After the first start up of the day the idle seems fine.
Hello fellow Explorer owners,
I have a 1996 XLT. It is a very clean engine
that is cared for with white gloves.
My problem is a unsteady/rough idle.
It does not matter if its cold or hot engine or outside temp.
I have done ALL the usual stuff. New IAC, Seafoam,Plugs Wires
