    Valve Train Explosion

I always use synthetic since they invented it. What tool - not ebay - do you use to find junk yard engines? Nothing on fleebay anywhere near SE Michigan, and what I do see is closer to 3000$ and the rebuild of one is quoted at $3500

    Valve Train Explosion

I am also looking for guidance - anyone know who does this timing chain repair in Metro "detroit" Michigan? FWIW I used valvoline synthetic for 200k, changed oil myself at no more than 4000miles, usually 3-3500. June this noise started and it getting worse daily.

    Time for tires

I 100% agree with how daunting it is to select a tire, would not ever go with firestone tho..., they don't last. I have the third set..after the OEM BFG on my x, and each set got 70k+ miles, the last one got into the daunting space as we upsized and the OEM tire wasn't made anymore.

Replaced the rear timing chain tensioner today

Hopefully someone will recognize and chime in. I wasn't sure Only FEAD items changed are alternator 2x, belt idler, and tensioner. I did not detect looseness or wobble in the top area. Compresor on off AC doesn't change it. Crank or water pump?

Replaced the rear timing chain tensioner today

I'll also say that I have used synthetic 5w30 since 20k miles, changed at 3-4000 mile increments. Now at 200k miles. Very early 2005 production unit.

Replaced the rear timing chain tensioner today

This is a Ranger Engine pull... The big question is, from earlier posts, can this be done, front and rear, in the vehicle? Does anyone know of a video of how this sounds? I'm hearing it more hot than cold...

Hey there does anyone know if I Can put 17 inch rims and tires front a f150 in my 2007 explorer?

Why do you think - check - where's the data we need these? The spacers from autozone for $20 work fine.

    Put a Torson 4.6L V8 2V on a Gen 4 Explorer

the new ones are all junk, designed for parts replacements after 60-100k miles, just like their small cars. Not to speak of battery packs that will cost more than the car is worth. And 94Eddie is spot on if you want newer, the 4runner is where the Explorer left off in 2010

Hey there does anyone know if I Can put 17 inch rims and tires front a f150 in my 2007 explorer?

I have 18's from 2013-17 replacing the stock 17's spacers required. I agree front hubs very anemic, they've been changed 3x in 200k, been running 2 years, major appearnce difference, as in they look so good some one tried to steal them at the local HD one day, after that I put locks on

    Crazy Electrical Issue Defies Logic

Gen 3 data, should be same as his gen 4.. A bad alternator will be very obvious, goffy stuff happens in cluster etc, however... The car will still run, I just changed the AZ RB alternator after 11 years (lifetime guarnatee), the alternator was not putting out at idle, but would charge, 14 v at...
