Thanks Donalds, Turdle. Can't seem to post reply in my "injector 1, 2, 3" thread.

AWESOME INFO! THANK YOU! VERY MUCH! Any idea where S124 and S167 live in the wire loom? Where can I find the wiring diagram? THANK YOU AGAIN.... Edit: Found wiring diagram here, courtesy Donalds. He broke out S124 and S167. So thanks to you, also, Donalds.

Thanks Donalds, Turdle. Can't seem to post reply in my "injector 1, 2, 3" thread.

Corrosion in splices. Great info! Thank you. Donalds' harness picture takes on a whole new meaning, now. Opening the entire harness will be more work than I imagined, but it's really the best way. If only the weather cooperates. And time. Don't want to leave the intakes off overnight in...

Thanks Donalds, Turdle. Can't seem to post reply in my "injector 1, 2, 3" thread.

New Ford wires and coil two weeks ago. Appreciate the tip on capacitors. Found the thread on how to check. Great information. Have narrowed the problem down to probable wiring trouble. With engine running and misfiring, I gently manipulated the #3 injector connector. Misfire didn't stop...

Couldn't post there from my cell. Hence, this new thread. Can you expound "browser details"? Thank you.

Thanks Donalds, Turdle. Can't seem to post reply in my "injector 1, 2, 3" thread.

Donalds; Thanks. Great picture. Shows what I needed to see. Turdle; Thanks. I reseated PCU connector few nights ago. Pins and connector housing were clean with no grit, dust, grime, dirt inside. Same for female side of connector. Reseated connector 4x then started engine. #3 miss was...

    Common denominator injectors 1, 2, 3?

Good info. Thank you. Do I have this right: all 6 injectors are spliced into the same, single, power wire? Would that power wire be within the harness that's under the lower intake, or could I find that power wire without removing lower intake (no garage, 15 degrees outside today)? Thank you...

    Common denominator injectors 1, 2, 3?

Injectors 1 & 2 dropping signal rapidly and intermittently, with #3 injector losing signal for much longer duration; sometimes days before it starts working again. Besides the injector harness, what's the common equipment, etc, to these 3 injectors that could be causing this?

2000 4.0 Monty, 365k miles, reverse intermittently working

Pretty sure this repair was for intermittent not shifting into reverse. It cured the problem until today. July 22 2021 - Tighten loose bolts on shifter on steering column. - Lube shifter linkage at transmission.

2000 4.0 Monty, 365k miles, reverse intermittently working

Thank you. I understand. Questions: (1) does that also apply if the problem is caused by linkage/cable being out of adjustment? (2) what if I drive but don't use reverse? Thanks again....

2000 4.0 Monty, 365k miles, reverse intermittently working

Thanks, Sailor. I'm pretty sure the linkage/cable repair was because trans wasn't going into reverse. Digging through my repair receipts later to be sure. Hope that's all that's wrong. Don't want to put $$$ into trans repair on this vehicle. It gets me around okay but needs so much...

2000 4.0 Monty, 365k miles, reverse intermittently working

365,x.. miles. Owned since 225,x.. miles. Never had any trans work except adjust shift linkage cable about 2 months ago. Can't recall why that was done but *think* I was having same trouble with reverse at that time. Reverse works intermittently. Have to move shift lever from R to D, N, P...

Will -.027 toe, driver's rear tire, cause car to wander?

All specs for front tires are in green on alignment printout. Passenger side rear tire has around .05 positive toe. Vehicle always in the hunt. Subtle but like being blown by wind. Feels like emanates from rear end. Would the -.27 toe (which is toe out) cause this wandering? Thank you..

Is this normal for new leaf springs?

Thanks, Brooks. Consensus growing springs not heavy enough. Will look into OME. Dayton's offered to exchange for another pair of 43-1159 or 1,200 lb 43-967, and provide UPS return shipping label. That's pretty good, but then again the pictures are shocking. The one thing Dayton hasn't done...

Is this normal for new leaf springs?

Ahhhhh. "Interrogatories". Correct, counselor; I assume? Probably correct assessment. Hard to find honest business these days. Everyone obfuscates, misdirects. It's never their or their company's fault. No one takes responsibility. Just like Congress. Will consider those heavier...

Is this normal for new leaf springs?

Hi Sailor, Dayton has offered to send replacement 43-1159 (1100 lb) or 43-967 (1250 lb) and UPS label to return these. But they haven't answered my questions, hence the (3rd) email to them. Not sure which way I'm going yet on this.

Is this normal for new leaf springs?

JC; All the oem Ford parts websites show the 1100 lb spring (pn F57Z-5560-A and D) for the 4DR Mounty and Explorer. I don't know what Ford/Merc model the 1200 lb springs are for. A local spring shop told me they use the 1200 lb spring all the time instead of the 1100 lb on Explorers. At that...

Is this normal for new leaf springs?

That's right BKennedy. And the vehicle is empty. No occupants, nothing in cargo area. Can't imagine the springs could handle 1,100 lbs in this condition without taking a permanent bend and endangering safety and handling. But a Dayton rep tells me Dayton's "SRI" (spring rate index?) says...

Is this normal for new leaf springs?

Brand new Dayton 43-1159 spring set. No weight in vehicle. Nothing in cargo area but jumper cables. Less than 100 miles on vehicle when pics taken last week. Dayton rep says this is normal. I say it's not. Spring pack not just flat, but has reverse bow over spring perch (a/k/a shock mount).

Anyone ever have similar problem with Dayton leafs? Thank you.

New Dayton leaf springs lost 75% of arch after install...see pics

The entire truck is about 1.5" lower than it should be. That's because two years ago I adjusted torsion bars to lower front end 1.5" to compensate for rear end sag. If the Dayton springs were true "made to spec", then the rear end would now be 1.5" higher than the front end, at least. When...

New Dayton leaf springs lost 75% of arch after install...see pics

Yes, sir. Doesn't look right to me, either. I called Stengel Brothers and sent Jack Stengel half dozen pictures. Jack's been honest and good as the day is long. He did me right when the first set of Daytons I got had cracked and improperly formed spring clips. Shipped me a replacement pair...

Will leaf spring from 5.0 motor fit my 4.0 motor Mountaineer?

Thanks, Sailor. Would the 5.0 springs have same arch and weight rating as for 4.0? I ask because my F code springs are rated for 1,100 pounds. A local spring shop (not the garage who did my install) and some online spring sellers tried to steer me to a 1,250 pound spring. But the arch in...
