    Servo or Solenoids P0775

I got anxious and ordered both, as well as the valve body gasket...It's cold right now and I only want to be under it once this winter! Thanks for the help guys, at least I know it was a 50/50 shot and I wasn't flat out wrong!

    Servo or Solenoids P0775

I guess I will order the servo's too...So you think the solenoid pack was a waste then? Should be here early next week. Should I do the bonded gasket too while I am in there?

    Servo or Solenoids P0775

Thanks to everyone for all the good info in this forum (and the stickies). I am still a little bit confused though and may have ordered the wrong thing. I just got a 2003 for my daughter. It stays in first until it revs up then shifts, or if you let off the gas, it shift. Seems ok otherwise, I...

    Abnormal front axle issue?

All external front components are less than a year old, tires, bearings, joints, etc....the right cv is loose and pulls out of the axle tube some. The cv itself is good and not worn, and the nut is tightened to spec. I am afraid to mess with until I know more. No tire wear....

    Abnormal front axle issue?

I am getting ready to sell my explorer but I want to fix my only issue first. I don't want to take it to a shop if I don't have to. The front CV on the passenger side pulls straight out a little bit. This is enough to trigger the 4x4 auto to go nuts, so I have the brown wire mod for the time...

    Heat won't stop!

Been offline a few days from the ice storm! Great info, Ill pull the radio again and take a look! There were so many actuators on the pass side I never thought to look on the drivers side! Thanks!!

    Heat won't stop!

Just to clarify, Im not talking a little....I'm talking more than what actually comes out of the defrosters. It's actually blowing as hard as the inequivalent setting on the vent would be. If I have defrost on High, there is enough blowing out the floor to blow receipts off the floor mat. If I...

    Heat won't stop!

I have read through several threads about blend doors, but non sound like my issue. For some reason the heat does NOT stop coming out of the floor vents in the front! I did open the glove box and watch the arms when I pushed the buttons and the arms did move every time they were supposed too...

    Yet another Auto 4x4 issue

Well, Haynes is worthless on this one! "Due to the complexity of the transfer case...blah blah blah take it to a mechanic" ! Why do they think we buy the darn book!

    Yet another Auto 4x4 issue

That is exactly what I mean.Well, I replaced everything you listed except the 2 "hall effect" sensors and the GEM module itself(see first post). Even the 4wd Modulke and sensors are brand new. Are the Hall sensors something you can get at without tearing it down? I don't see them in the Haynes...

    Yet another Auto 4x4 issue

I just did the BWM and it seems to work fine. I would like to get it working the correct way for her for winter if I could and use the BWM in the summer. Any other thoughts?

    Yet another Auto 4x4 issue

I changed the one in the rear diff, plus the 2 that control the ABS in the front bearings are new (included with the bearings). Is there another hiding somewhere? I expected one in the tranny, but can't find a reference to it for 02.

    Yet another Auto 4x4 issue

Sorry, I didn't want to thread jack anyone else. I guess what I meant by "fix 4wd auto" is now I have to pull the number 17 and 18 fuses just to daily drive it now that I have fixed all those things. On a straight dry road it keeps acting like the tranny is slipping (but it's not) in and out of...

    Yet another Auto 4x4 issue

Just bought an 02 and replace all 4 tires with brand new ones (yes balanced), all 4 wheel bearings, 4WD control module, all brakes, rear transfer case speed sensor and upper rear ball joints. The 4WD auto keeps kicking in and out, it seems to be much worse in the 1800 to 2000 rpm range. I...
