My '06 has the arm rests with no cutout on top to grab the door when opening/closing. They added the cutout in 2007+ models. No recommendations for on-line used auto body parts???

I can't deal with the door handles on my '06 Limited anymore, but can't afford to but the new panels at $700+. Can anybody recommend a reputable used Ford body parts dealer that may have 2007+ Explorer door panels?

I have a custom tune from Bama Chips. It helps alot but it doesn't eliminate it.

I am referring to the STOCK chrome grill insert for a 2006 Explorer (which is actually plastic I believe) and I purchased it for $79 from Magic City Ford in Roanoke, VA.

It is very difficult to remove these grills without damaging them. Not sure if you will find one that is undamaged, and even if you do, you will not be saving much money after shipping considering you can get these brand new from your dealer for about $79.

I was told that my vehicle (2006 Explorer) does not have a GEM. Battery is still going dead every few weeks on mine. I measured my drain with everything off at 0.077 amps.

Can you clarify? What size diodes? Where can I get them? How/where do you install them?

I actually replaced my battery with a red top Optima (sealed gel). It doesn't go dead as fast, but if it sits for 2 or 3 weeks, it drains and you can hear it struggle when it starts (if it starts). However, I also have a remote starter. Maybe we're onto something here. I had the shop check...

This is interesting. I have an '06 Explorer Limited with the V8 and I thought it came stock with the Class III hitch and 7K lb towing capacity. I will need to check my paperwork. Thanks for the info.

I have had the PCM update done. It helped with the shifting, but not with the battery going dead. Took a 500 mile round trip last weekend...it then sat for a week...battery not strong enough to start the Explorer this weekend.

I have the same problem with my 2006 Explorer. It's driving me nuts! Anybody find the culprit???
