    securing the speakerbox?

on my del Sol, the problem is easily fixed.. the box is behind the seats, in front of the rear firewall... I simply looped a steel cable through the box, then though the firewall, and have a combination lock tucked behind the trunk carpeting. The explorer has an ugly as HELL box in it right...

Help! installed intake and WHAM BAM CEL codes for DAYS!

No, I didn't, and I thought about that... I know on my honda, whenever I do any motor/electrical modification, I reset the ecu... on the honda it's just a matter of pulling the ecu fuse out, counting to 60, and plugging it back in... a friend told me that if I disconnect both terminals of the...

Help! installed intake and WHAM BAM CEL codes for DAYS!

I'll get the numbers at some point today... I'm gonna see about getting the ecu reset to see if that helps at all. All seals are tight and correct.. the intake came with a small rubber gasket that goes around the MAF, and the gaskets are all tight. I even put a small amount of silicone grease on...

Ok here's the skinny... no use wasting time with a long story... 97 XLT 4.0 v6 Installed an intake with a MAF adaptor. Carefully removed my MAF sensor, making sure not to break small wires. Carefully transferred MAF sensor to new intake. Continued with install of intake. (Used OEM piping...

    Nervous about using Seafoam

When I seafoamed my honda's motor, I poured it into a plasic jug so I could see better how much I had used. I put approx 1/3 in the (full) gas tank, 1/3 in the oil fill point on the valve cover, and 1/3 in the brake booster line. The important thing is to remember that you HAVE to rag the motor...

    Hmmm... leaky/scrubbing brake nastiness

yeah it wasn't the brake fluid level that was the problem up until now. I lost pressure and pretty much knew exactly what was goin on. Bleeding brakes is no problem.. do it all the time. PITA, but it's one of those things that has to be done. Any info/recommended brands for stainless steel brake...

    Hmmm... leaky/scrubbing brake nastiness

ok before I start, I admit that I postponed fixing a problem and now it is probably coming back to bite me in the rear, but so be it... I need help figuring this out. The truck: 97 XLT, 4 wheel disc, ABS The pre-problem: scrubbing from the driver's side rear brake. Sounded like a mildly...

    Question!!!

Can anyone take a pic of their back hatch and show me what this is *supposed* to look like? I know it's messed up, but I need a reference before I can repair it! I've figured out that it's for the rear wiper, so I know I need a new rear wiper, just trying to figure out what else is needed... and...

    'Ello there!

The Sol's about __ that close to being a trailer queen.. I still drive her to shows, but I put massive amounts of protection over her paint (I have a clear bra covering the hood, fenders, front bumper, front half of the roof, and side mirrors.. basically anywhere that would get hit.. it's like...

    'Ello there!

I'm not really intending on mudding or anything... I thought about lowering it, but I knew that if I did that that I would want bigger wheels (20"s or so), and then I would want this really sharp looking (to me) kit that I saw on ebay, and then I would want a custom interior, and then since I...

    'Ello there!

It may well be.. I wasn't paying attention to the model trim.. I was too busy looking over everything and checking essentials (belts, hoses, suspension, etc). It's fully loaded, so I assumed eddie and didn't confirm it. Leather, cd changer, sunroof, keyless, etc etc etc. Honestly, I'm getting...
