Well my gas pedal assemblt is not broken. My throttle cable is what is broken, are it pulled loose and into my firewall. I guess whatever holds my throttle connector broke? I would imagine that I need a new throttle cable, correct? Or can I just use my old cable and fix whatever held the...

Thanks....I tend to suspect that it is the alternator since I have a 93 Explorer with close to 173,000 miles on it and I am still on my original alternator!! I don't guess I can complain to much.

Is it possible that my alternator is going bad? The problems did not start happening till several months ago. Their are times while sitting at a stoplight that the explorer almost cuts off because it's idle drops so low....

When my Explorer is stopped or in neutral and my A/C compressor comes on my Explorer surges. When moving everything is fine. I replaced my IAC back several months ago but their wasn't an issue with the A/C at that time. Thanks for the help!!

Thanks....I am thinking the same thing about the starter. How would a starter react if it is going bad? I am just going to keep the IAC valve since mine was really dirty and it does have 170,000 miles on it. Thanks for you help

An update...I went out and purchased and installed a new IAC valve. Mine had never been replaced so what the heck. But I still have the problem, the sound comes from the bottom near where the starter is. Also, my truck still does not idle very long before it shuts off...any other ideas....
