MAC TB and C&L Plenum added!

MPG has been holding steady--it improved a bit after I added the intake, headers, exhaust, and tune. Have not noticed much of a change with the new TB/Plenum. Performance gains with the MSD Blasters have been negligible in my opinion.

    Powder coating grills?

20 inch Boss 336's. Am considering dropping it but kinda like how it rides/sits now. Plus I gotta save some money to paint it Grabber Orange...

MAC TB and C&L Plenum added!

$119 plus shipping for the plenum. Some local guys custom fit that bend piece for me and tapped another line--worked out great. SO many more performance shops here in SoCal (compared to NYC!) for me to outsource to. Leaves more time to keep my engine clean!

    K&N for 4.6

70mm MAC is what I have but I think many of the brands you list are reputable. I don't have any experience with the tb spacers...

    what mod next?

A custom tune and you're probably good...for "Stage I" mods. I'd say JBA headers would be next but I am biased...

    2003 merc mounty needs mods

You probably need the Steeda 701-0001, like I have, but just to make sure check out the guide linked to this page (see under Notes): http://www.steeda.com/products/steeda_4.6L_underdrive_pulleys.php

    3rd Gen Mods, 2.0

JDM in Freehold, NJ did my tune--you should check them out since you are in NJ. They are one of the best Mustang/Lightning shops in the country and graciously tuned the Ex for me.

    3rd Gen Mods, 2.0

It's a 4wd and I had the UDP installed just prior to having the truck tuned. So it is hard for me to say about the difference. 207 rwhp is just without the tune therefore it is not truly stock.

    3rd Gen Mods, 2.0

My results: "Stock" 207.58 rwhp "Tuned" 225.70 rwhp I would say, conservatively, I am about 270-275 hp at crank. I'm not really a numbers guy when it comes to hp. If I want 400 hp-- I'll bolt on the Tork Tech supercharger. But for now I am very happy with the truck's performance...

I may have to wait on my gears as cash just got a little tight. Since I have a 4x4 the cost is much more. I can swap out my rear with the Ford Racing gears but with the front I have to go with the factory 4.10s. These are double the price (and not as good) as the gears from Ford Racing...

I suppose I'll keep it simple then and skip the cats and manifold. Maybe go with a less expensive replacement coil like Accel or the GMS base coils (if I even decide to). Probably go with the underdrive pulley from ASP and an electric fan as these mods are not very expensive... Thanks for...

    3rd Gen Mods, 2.0

I read your entire upgrade thread a while back... So of your "secondary" upgrades-- like GMS ignition upgrade and pulley as well as Typhoon intake--you seem less than impressed? Didn't you swap out your stock cats for the Magnaflow ones? Did that offer you much performance gains? And...

I've got the V8. My buddy has a Mustang with the same engine and mentioned the intake--he has the Performance Products Typhoon intake and likes it. Yes it is top-end oriented but it has apparently helped throughout the rpm range. Any particular underdrives you recommend or have heard good...

As I am getting ready for my next set of mods on my 3rd gen; I thought I would ask for some opinions. Feel free to say don't bother with these if you feel there are other mods better worth doing... 1. Underdrive pulley 2. Replacing stock cats. Looking at the Magnaflow Direct Fit Cats...

19' Ford Flex rims on 03 Explorer

You are absolutely correct...I had the numbers swapped in my head. The hub diameter is too large on Explorer's to accomodate these Flex rims. I did call Tire Rack and they told me Edge rims are 70.5 and would work fine but not the Flex...
