Headliner coming apart, how to fix

Wanted something different. The colors are not exactly correct from the camera. The visors are the same gray as the plastic trim and not the color in the photo. The headliner is actually closer to gray than blue, like a blue/gray. The green color of the vehicle, Medium Willow, is shown much...

Headliner coming apart, how to fix

Finished. Got headliner from WLS. Strongly suggest you spend the $17 for an extra can of spray adhesive. The cans of 3M specify three applications of adhesive 5 mins apart. Good thing I ordered two cans because it took all of the first can and 90% of the second can. One can will not do the...

Headliner coming apart, how to fix

After 3 hours of scrubbing with a stiff wire brush, got all the old headliner off. Now how to fix the areas where the fiberglass has come off with old material? Any Suggestions?

Headliner coming apart, how to fix

I ordered new headliner from WLS a few days ago. Wanted to get ahead of the game and took down the headliner. No to bad a job and due to the warm weather here in Fla, no plastic pieces broke. Everything came apart faily easy. The T50 seatbelt bolts were hard to initially brake lose due to the...

    Cannot remove overhead console

got it out. just pulled real hard and out it came. those two clips are tough. I figure that if something broke, I would just glue it back together. That thing had to come out. Got the headliner out also. Looks like it is going to be a big job.

    Cannot remove overhead console

Need to remove the console so that I can install new headliner. Removed two screws in the rear section. The console now moves around. Tried pulling to rear and pushing toward windshield but it won't come out. I don't see any more screws to remove. Read other posts but still can't figure it...

    Thermostat bolts, hot or cold

Thermostat housing is slowly leaking fluid. Attempted to loosen the one bolt that is easily accessible but it is difficult to get a socket in there. Is it easier to remove the bolts when hot or cold? I don't want to round these off. Don't think it has ever been removed.

    96 XLT power windows

Before I tear into things, I would like for someone to tell me what is involved in stopping the motor when the window hits bottom. Is there a limit switch that is tripped by a lever or is there electronics that senses an over current condition and turns the motor off until it is raised again...

    96 XLT power windows

That is not the response I was looking for. I am not seeking opinions, just assistance in troubleshooting. The motor has no circuitry in it to cause this situation, didn't you know that?? No one has stated that the motor is at fault. It is operating the window up and down.

    96 XLT power windows

The driver's side has begun to act up. When the window is open by the one touch method, after the window is all the way down, the motor continues to run and a loud clicking sound is heard. I immediately raised the window a small bit to stop it from continuing. Now I have to open the window...

    47-600 blades

I can't remember what brand it was but just for an experiment on the Focus, I bought the $4.95 blade and the $16 blade. Installed both the same time. Both began streaking within a month of each other, usually at six months. I just can't buy into the expensive blades. Maybe it's where I live.

    47-600 blades

I have used up my stash of these blades. All I can find now is that they are $10 a pair by mail and that is the cheapest if I buy 6 pair at a time. They go as high as $16. I was paying $6 a pair when they were available locally. Anyone still using these narrow blade refills? For $10, I...

    Re-finished console

That looks good too. If mine fails in time, I will go that route. How did you strip off the rubber?

    Re-finished console

Thanks Guys, it was so easy. The two pieces of the console just pop out. Even in this old truck, nothing broke. This has always been my favorite until last week when we took delivery of the Escape. That 2.0L pins you back in the seat like the explorer. No, this is still my favorite.

    Re-finished console

The old console has been taking a slight beating over the past 20 years. There were scrapes and scratches and some places, down to the base material. I have been reading about Plasti-Dip and it seemed like it was worth a try since it couldn't be any worse than it already was. Found it at my...

    Sweet smell

Have been getting a sweet smell from I don't know where. Seems to maybe coming from the front. Checked the exhaust and it is not coming out of there. Thought that maybe antifreeze. Took some and boiled in a clean tin can and it hardly smelled at all. No water in the oil and no oil in the...

    What is going on here??

Strange that this is only happening in the front seating area, not in the back seat area or cargo area.

    What is going on here??

My headliner only in the front seat area looks like it is coming apart or something. The rest of the headliner is fine and no signs of any of this condition. What is going on??

    Break pedal travel

Flushed through an entire quart of brake fluid and some fine bubbles came from the right rear. All other wheels were clear of bubbles. Pedal is now about two inches from floor. Went out on a dirt road and locked up the brakes and you could hear and feel the ABS come on. In all these years, I...

    Break pedal travel

No chance. I'm the only one that has ever serviced the brakes until I just had the rear hoses replaced. They were still functional but after all these years, I wanted them done as I had already done the front hoses. I thought maybe all the hoses could have been the problem, but now I know...

    Break pedal travel

Installed new MC this morning. Pedal still acts the same. Got the MC from Autozone and it came with the bench bleed tubing and fittings. Nice. Funny, but really not funny that when the dealer replaced the rear brake hoses and cross over line, they should have noticed and told me about the...

    Break pedal travel

A few months ago, I replaced the aging front brake hoses and still noticed the soft brake pedal. Just replaced the rear brake hoses and no change. With the motor running, the braking is good enough to normally stop, but with prolonged pedal pressure, it eventually goes to the floor after a...
