    Loud engine noise suddenly.

It sounds like a mechanical noise to me. It's hard for me to describe. Here's a video I took. https://www.dropbox.com/s/uv9ti4yg95pejvo/VID_20201107_100200979.mp4?dl=0 While in the garage, next to my son, it was so loud that I would need to shout to him next to me so he could hear me.

    Loud engine noise suddenly.

Is there a good way to test this? It was in my garage and it was so loud that I was hesitant to get under and take a look. If I spin the fan, should it spin freely?

Here's my resolution. I tried to order two separate door lock assemblies (from two different suppliers, including a Ford Dealer). The part number from Ford and also from Dorman does not match the actual part that is in my door. I don't know why, but after trying twice, I did something...

Ok, I'm updating my progress on this as this may be helpful for others who have a similar issue. After thinking about my situation more, I decided to tear the door apart again to take a closer look. Here's what I found. When looking at the door latch assembly and the actuator while the door...

2002 Mercury Mountaineer Door Actuator / Lock Issue

I've got a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer that is my "3rd vehicle". For many years the driver side door has not locked. In 2016 I bought a new actuator from (Dorman brand). I watched a few guides on how to replace it, and [it being a 3rd vehicle] I put it on the shelf. This winter my Mountaineer...

Please help me identify source of brake noise

I'm not sure what you mean by "pop the metal plug out", however when I changed the parking brake pads, I also changed out the bar with the star adjuster on it. I'm not sure I have it adjusted properly, but what you say makes sense.

There is normal resistance. It it is not difficult to push it to the floor, but it does require you to push it.
