2000 North Face for sale (Essex)

I have been too lazy to advertise this elsewhere while waiting for some snow that never came. If any one wants it and can take it this weekend, . Insurance runs out Sunday night, so if I have to renew insurance I will have to rethink. Had my other car serviced today. Jumped in the...

2000 North Face for sale (Essex)

I have priced it lower for members here first. This forum has been very helpful the last few years so it is a little way of offering something back (if anyone is interested of course haha). When I advertise it elsewhere the price will be more.

2000 North Face for sale (Essex)

Sold 2000 North Face for sale (Essex) I thought I would see if anyone here is interested first before I put it up for sale elsewhere. It was my daily runner for 3 1/2 years doing around 14k miles a year. I have just bought a newer estate so no longer need her (but I still take her for a...

New Exploder, a couple of problems

I can't offer any help, but mine had the same issue for a few weeks a year or so ago. Indicating left switched the cruise control off. No idea what caused it or what cured it, but its OK now.

    what new stereo to fit

You could pick up an old 6000 series Ford radio if you want a CD. The is also the 6CD 6006 but make sure you see it loading and unloading discs OK because the mechanisms were easily broken.

Cam Chains? Buy or not to buy.

Doesn't look like free collection though unless I missed something.

    new owner

Ford didn't have the kit here and I was buying the bits individually which was going to be over £100 non-returnable as a special order. Luckily they ordered the the incorrect tensioner so I didn't have to pay for that (around £70 on it's own) because on Ebay just over a week ago a company was...

A couple of questions: engine cut out and rattle

Well the 00m12 kit was done yesterday and all I can say today is wow. It only recently had a starting issue with the first start of a day, but on this cold, damp morning, it fired up with the barest miniumum turn of the key, ticked over nicely and I didn't even have to touch the throttle...

I can recommend them. The goods came next day.

    ecu temp sender ect

A FINIS code (7 numbers) is the code that Ford dealers use to order parts by. WERS codes are the engineering codes used for manufacture (with a format of prefix-base-suffix, a mixture of letters and numbers). A FINIS code could equate to several compatible WERS parts. I hope that helps.

Front Timing Chain Tentioner Part Number?

Luckily a couple of kits went on Ebay yesterday.

    ecu temp sender ect

That part number is a Ford WERS part number. Unfortunately I no longer work on any of the systems that can identify it. Looks like it has FINIS code 5072891 if it helps identify it.

    loads a parts

Didn't realise they had listed so much, but picked up a 00m12 kit last night from them (thanks Jan for the tip off). Now to return the individual parts to Ford.

Front Timing Chain Tentioner Part Number?

I think I have found the front left tensioner part number: 7U3Z-6K254-B. Couldn't find anything on the oil restrictor though.

Front Timing Chain Tentioner Part Number?

Can anyone confirm please the part number or FINIS code for the tensioner in the 00M12 kit? Also, the oil restrictor parts too. I have the gaskets already. Thank you.

A couple of questions: engine cut out and rattle

Couldn't get hold of a kit in the UK so have ordered the individual bits from Ford. Cold start is getting worse each day until it warms up a bit.

A couple of questions: engine cut out and rattle

Th rattle seems to be exhaust related, not engine. I'll check the heat shields one day when I get some time, too much to do with the house at the moment and weekends also pretty busy. Can anyone suggest the best place to get the o-rings and gaskets though, or even the whole oom12 kit?

A couple of questions: engine cut out and rattle

That will have to wait a little while sadly, need to get the house sorted first over the next few weekends. Where's best to get them in the UK?

A couple of questions: engine cut out and rattle

Managed to find time to clean the MAF last night. This morning it was better at cold start up but then when I put it in Drive and turned the wheel to pull on to the road I thought it was going to cut out - a few extra revs caught it. I also got the feeling it was going to cut at traffic...

A couple of questions: engine cut out and rattle

Thanks chaps. I've just moved house this weekend so it may be a few more before I can get under the bonnet to check.

OK thanks for the info. I'll check out the MAF sensor once I find out what one is :-)

A couple of questions: engine cut out and rattle

First the rattle. With a cold engine (especially first drive of the day) when the engine is under load, I get a rattle that sounds like the exhaust rattling. Once the engine is fully warmed up I get no hint of this. Could it just be something expanding with the heat that is slightly loose when...
