Tips for Dorman 615-175 Intake Manifold Installation

Happy Thanksgiving! You are most welcome and glad it helped a few people out. Almost 7 years later my manifold replacement is holding up well.

Hmm, looks like you might want to pull the oil pan to fish out the plastic-nylon parts.

I'm not familiar with this engine. What are the blurry photos showing? Missing timing chain tensioner?

Rough running at idle and pre change up only

That tube isn't connected to the acoustic insulator engine cover therefore there would be no need to disconnect it just to remove the cover. The fact that your engine has three different branded coils implies to me that the prior owner actually had coils fail or had an issue that he thought was...

Rough running at idle and pre change up only

IIRC, the MAF doesn't impact the engine at idle. I've replaced a couple of IAC devices before. IIRC, the aftermarket IAC can be problematic so get a genuine OEM one. If you do a search you'll find a thread where I mentioned my IAC woes. Lastly, if the intake manifold hasn't ever been replaced...

This one is approved by ForScan and works with Android or iOS. I just bought this one for my Dad.

Check to see if it's the rubber elbow issue. https://www.explorerforum.com/forums/threads/rough-idle-and-check-engine-soon-light-fixed.217062/

2003 Mountaineer - AWD - Transfer Case Noise?

Positive it's coming from the front? Just for grins, inspect the rear sway bar bushings to see if they disintegrated. While at it check the sway bar links. Check the front sway bar too. Sometimes a clunk can be the sway bar loose and hitting the frame/brackets. Especially when turning as it's...

    265 70R16, will they fit 2004 explorer

I generally put the psi at 15% less than the tire is rated. So 50 psi max means 42.5. 10% - 15% is a good range for maximum mpg. I have 275/45R20 on mine.

    Ball joints

Your originals may have not lasted that long. Perhaps it didn't become obvious until 245k miles. I just changed mine out at 180k and it was only obvious after I removed the knuckle. Then you could see how sloppy they were. Not sure what was getting greased on your front suspension as there are...

    C1095 Pump Motor Circuit Failure

Yup, other than the connector issue...everything was simple as pie. Codes all cleared and ABS/AdvanceTrac idiot lights are no longer lit.

    C1095 Pump Motor Circuit Failure

Lastly, don't forget you'll need to bleed the brake lines. My vehicle has nearly 180K miles on it and naughty me had never flushed the system with newer fluid. I took this opportunity to flush the system thereby bleeding the air out. Also, I upgraded from Dot 3 to Dot 4 just for the hell of it...

    C1095 Pump Motor Circuit Failure

The next thing to deal with was programming the new ABS controller unit. I note that some people have had to take their vehicles to the Ford stealership to do this and pay the big bucks. Also, I have noted that some people will simply remove their old ABS controller unit and install it on the...

    C1095 Pump Motor Circuit Failure

I had ordered that ABS assembly and installed it this past weekend. Easy-peasy installation with the exception of the connector again...LOL! I had watched a couple of videos on how to change it out and honestly it was easier than how others did it but probably because of the way that they had...

    Suggestions for moderately priced tires?

Thanks y'all! I ended up going with the Falken Ziex STZ05 tires as they met my criteria of being a decent tire at an affordable price. What's odd is that at discounttiredirect.com (online only) the price is $169 per tire but at discounttire.com (brick & mortar) the price is $203 per tire. I've...

    C1095 Pump Motor Circuit Failure

I found it! I went with this one. I wasn't wanting to pay that much but if I had it rebuilt it would have been that much or more. I found a used one on ebay for $100 but it came from a vehicle with 152K miles on it so you have to wonder how much life is left on it. I'm guessing that some people...

    C1095 Pump Motor Circuit Failure

I have yet to see an actual photo of an ABS control system that has 6 hydraulic connections. Weird. Must be one of a kind Frankenploder that cost me an extra $795. https://capitalford.com/posts/blog-ford-advance-trac

    C1095 Pump Motor Circuit Failure

They must have used 2-part epoxy to hold that connector in place...LOL. Sheesh, I was gonna do my due diligence and do basic voltage testing. I may have to remove the battery and battery platform to get better leverage on it. Nothing comes easy.

    C1095 Pump Motor Circuit Failure

I called the local Ford dealer to ask them what the correct part number is for the ABS assembly. I was told the 2L24-2C346-CJ number on the sticker is only an engineering number and not the part number. They gave me 2C5Z-2C215-AA as the correct number. Almost nothing comes up on the internet...

    C1095 Pump Motor Circuit Failure

There's something on that connector mechanism that's holding it on. Don't have a clue what it is since the clamshell cover on mine is missing. https://www.ebay.com/itm/163630069134
