    Whooping noise from 06 Mountaineer

The simple solution to this problem is to evac and refill freon. The Explorers with rear A/C hold a huge amount of freon 1.33kg. The noise is coming from the expansion valve, I believe due to a small lack of freon in the system. Almost a month has passed with out a reoccurance where as it was...

    P0197, Wire harness damage?

A 4 inch section of wiring was replaced, the damage was about 5 inches after the plug.

    Liftgate glass opens when driving.

After cleaning and lube I believe this is the solution to this problem. A better fix would be to buy a new latch.

    P0197, Wire harness damage?

2006 Ford Explorer V8 I've replaced the engine oil temp sensor with no luck. Is there a common issue with this code? Does the wire harness get worn in a common area?

    Whooping noise from 06 Mountaineer

I've had the same issue for years now. It's starting to happen more often. It will make the noise with the rear A/C turned on and turned off. It will also make the noise when the car is at a full stop.

    High Performance radiator options

I would like to add upon the Silla rad, it shows the Silla core is .25in thicker than the New style OE rad. It looks like a great alternative to the OE.

    High Performance radiator options

I went ahead and purchased the expensive OE rad, it has been updated over the years. The biggest difference is the original 06 OE rad had 2 cores. The updated OE rad has a thicker one core but is 1/2 inch thiner than in 2006. Kind of a bummer but maybe they figured out a way to make it cool...

    High Performance radiator options

That Silla is only a 1 row. I believe OE is 2 row.

    High Performance radiator options

Its time to replace the radiator in my 2006 4.6 v8. I can't seem to find any direct fit custom aluminum radiator options. Any venders stocking these items? If not I'll just go with OE.

    Radio LCD out

I have to push on the LCD to get it to light up for a short period of time. Any one know where to purchase just the LCD with out having to replace the entire radio?

2007 Ford Explorer XLT battery drain problem

I have the same .17 amp draw issue, #2 fuse inside the car stops the draw. So I take it this is normal?

My liftgate is opening while driving.

My guess is a short in the wiring causing it to release, I don't think any one has found a solution to the problem. Let us know what you come up with.

My liftgate is opening while driving.

It wouldn't hurt to lube it. Unfortunately in my case I always confirm the latch is locked before I drive off. Some how power is getting to the latch while driving and causing it to unlock.

My liftgate is opening while driving.

Thanks for taking it in and posting your results. I think at this point it is a matter of changing specific parts until the problem stops.

My liftgate is opening while driving.

If the problem doesn't happen when the mechanic is investigating and there are no stored codes than every thing will seem normal. I hope they didn't charge you for a diagnosis.

My liftgate is opening while driving.

I just checked alldatadiy and found no TSB on the subject. I have not looked in to the problem yet. If you come up with some info please post it.

Engine Noise, Chain and lifter Photo

Thanks, its very interesting reading about this issue. It's amazing that the internal impact making this noise hasn't caused major damage over time and is considered normal. I wish I found this info before taking the valve cover off but its better being on the safe side.

Engine Noise, Chain and lifter Photo

Great thanks, looks like alldata has failed me again. The only TSB they have is regarding a ticking noise due to a stuck lash adjuster.

Engine Noise, Chain and lifter Photo

I'm trying to diagnose an engine noise. my stethoscope pinpointed it to the passenger side bank of the valve train towards the front of the engine. If the stethoscope was pointed on a valve cover bolt the noise would be ear shattering loud. You can only hear the nose at a stop revved up...

My liftgate is opening while driving.

I'm guessing the only thing we can do until we figure out what's wrong is to disconnect the electrical plug for the glass hatch latch so it wont be told to pop open.

    Liftgate glass opens when driving.

I think I will take the rear switch out for inspection and swap the relay with another.

    Liftgate glass opens when driving.

On my 2006 explorer v8 4x4 I have a intermittent problem with the liftgate glass popping open at random times while I'm driving. It could take over an hour of constant driving for it to pop open or it could happen 20 min after. I found a few threads with people having this problem on older...
