Have you ever experienced this and how to fix it?

LOL I did... that's what I get for replying on my phone. now if I was good at searching i'd find the link to my original post on this... because I'm pretty sure I did...

Have you ever experienced this and how to fix it?

did you recently have a service that involved the rear suspension. I had a similar experience to what you noted in my 2020 after a warranty service on right rear axle (don't think that's right term but you know what I mean). the next symptom I had was heavy tire wear on that tire (and less but...

2020 ST - Low Oil Pressure causing Rattle?

So is under the powertrain warranty since its under 60k? I think my issue was a combination of extended warranty / short staff due to covid / long lead times / the dealer's service department imploding. They had to take pictures of everything for the extended warranty and it seemed liek...

2020 ST - Low Oil Pressure causing Rattle?

good luck... hope the process getting the short block replaced is more timely than mine was, and that they don't break the turbo putting it back together like mine.

    Squeak/Rattle in Panoramic Moonroof/Sunroof - 2023 Explorer Platinum

It may be hard to hear over the engine... but the squeaking of the sunroof is there if you listen... and completely went away when moved the stickers. Apparently the part i'm refering to is teh Water drain panel: https://www.fordpartscatalog.com/oem-parts/ford-water-drain-panel-lb5z7854022a...

    Sunroof/Moonroof Noise

good luck. the squeak made mine intolerable to drive... and it took me a few weeks to figure out where it was coming from because the shade redirected the sound. 30 seconds to reposition the pads and 9 months later still without the squeek. See if you can get a before picture for others to see...

    Sunroof/Moonroof Noise

you can see it with the roof tilted up. The tab in the foreground sits on the pad on the sunroof. in my case it looked like the adhesive wasn't fully set and the pad slipped... i was able to pull it off and reset it and its been fine ever since... i figured it out because the noise stopped...

    Sunroof/Moonroof Noise

I'm not sure what a binding noise is... but if its a squeek, check that the the center plastic piece is landing on two little pads on the sunroof... the pads slipped on mine and made an intolerable squeaking noise.. moved the pads forward so the tabs land on them and no more squeek. I posted...

Suspensions feels like its bouncing while driving

If you recently service on the suspension... this is how a loose belt first felt to me on the rear right. Took the dealer way to long to find it. But if you feel it bounce / shift as you step on the gas or feel the car pulling one way... find a dealer you trust and have them check for loose...

Has anybody figured out a fix for the second row window wind noise??

Agreed... I couldn't tell from their description if either of these were what they were experiencing.... the noise from the panel under took me a while to figure out and i could have sworn it was coming from the window when it was really from underneath.... or if they were having a complete...

Has anybody figured out a fix for the second row window wind noise??

Not sure if its the same noise... but i've noticed two noises discussed elsewhere here before: 1. when only one window open there's the pressure "pulsing" that occurs... crack another window and it goes away. 2. I had a noise sounding like came from the window but it was a loose cover under the...

2020 Explorer ST engine knocking after oil change

well, the good news is they may be right (or at least you don't have what I had...). assuming you've driven it since your post, and it hasn't gotten worse / you haven't gotten any error codes etc then its DEFINITELY not what I had.

2020 Explorer ST engine knocking after oil change

No they didn’t know… in the end I wasn’t to happy with the service at that dealer… great for 15 years then suddenly down hill…. I searched and couldn’t find any one with a similar engine issue and really think it was one in a milion…. But… Here’s my video… much more pronounced than anything I...

2020 Explorer ST engine knocking after oil change

My 2020 ST had bearing go inside the engine at 63k - ended up with a short block replacement. It started with a knocking noise that was pronounced during acceleration.... car went into limp mode 2 days later. Mine sounded more normal at idle than the video you played... but you asked if...

    Squeak/Rattle in Panoramic Moonroof/Sunroof - 2023 Explorer Platinum

So not sure if the sound is like a squeak.. but i had two unrelated noises that I recently trouble shot myself. One was the the flapping of the guard under the car (documented in other posts) that i found was a loose nut.. when tightened up the sound went away. The other was more of a...

    Autolamp issue

Also check which version of the software is installed... i started getting weird problems like that on the old software build (on my new 2023) until the most recent update that fixed all of those issues... buttons started showing again...

    New SYNC Update 23188

I downloaded the update on my Mac and loaded it in the same usb I’d used for previous updates on my 2020…. Updated in about 25 min while driving…. Had to power down and open the car door and then power up before it took hold. Right away it fixed some of the issues I was having (like ford...

2023 Lincoln Reserve Ordered (HOLD ORDER?)

Ford red carpet lease will extend your lease month to month if you have proof you ordered vehicle… they did that for me when there were delays on the. 2020’s

2023 Lincoln Reserve Ordered (HOLD ORDER?)

I just bought a 2023 Explorer... the salesman called me and told me that i was lucky, they have a stop sell order on explorers that came out a few days later and it was tied to the recall on the rear camera.

2020 ST - Low Oil Pressure causing Rattle?

for the 2023 ST.. pretty much the same car minus a few things (the massage seats and self parking that i never used, and appartnly they no longer have the center cup holder between the captains chairs.). Like i said, i really think my experience was bad luck / dealer service and not...

2020 ST - Low Oil Pressure causing Rattle?

So final update.. not because i think the car is fixed.. but because i don't own it anymore... 4 weeks for them to diagnose and replace the long block (I learned what that means.. .funny how things get named)... drive it off the lot and check engine light on... apparently they broke a sensor...

2020 ST - Low Oil Pressure causing Rattle?

thanks. regardless... i think i'm in the market to trade it in and get a 2023 when i get it back for all of these reasons. i don't trust the place doing service after my experience with the loose bolt last year and now their lack of transparency here.... fool me twice shame on me.

2020 ST - Low Oil Pressure causing Rattle?

For those playing along at home... it was a piston bearing that went at 61k. took three weeks for extended warranty approvals but replacing the engine this week. I haven't seen on here, or in google, much reporting of similar issues so I'm suspecting I just won the the lottery so to speak....

2020 ST - Low Oil Pressure causing Rattle?

I reached out via chat and they were not helpful at all. I haven’t gotten an answer of what the issue is, but apparently the engine needs to be sent out for repair it replaced…. So something went really wrong.

2020 ST - Low Oil Pressure causing Rattle?

So low oil pressure / long changes (which i didn't have) were not the cause... since the ST had the same sound the next day. Waited to get in the queue for the senior technician and when i called yesterday the service advisor told me that they were working with the ford extended warranty...

2020 ST - Low Oil Pressure causing Rattle?

If low / old oil can suddenly cause those symptoms... then yeah it would have been more like 16k if they lied during the last service. Yeah... I think regardless its time to search for a new place for service... Because either they are telling me a story now, or were then. anyone have...

2020 ST - Low Oil Pressure causing Rattle?

After accelerating hard to merge into traffic yesterday I started getting what i'd call a "strong rattle" when accelerating (2000-3000 RPM's) or when the car was in sport mode and the transmission / engine staying in engaged as it slowed down. I was able to reproduce a rattle in the driveway...

    2020 explorer "twists" during acceleration

Loose bolt when they reassembled it. It took me taking the service manager for a ride and him feeling the car twist. Once he felt it, he agreed it was wrong and knew what test to see if it was fixed. Took them almost 2 whole days until they figured it out… but I’ve but 20k on the vehicle since...

Explorer is all over the place

I had a similar issue that I chased for 6 months. At one point it got to where I could replicated it... with a slight acceleration at highway speeds you could feel the vehicle shift to one side and then back... and replicated it with the service manager. They ultimately found a loose bolt on...

    2020 explorer "twists" during acceleration

Of course they were “still working on the paperwork” and there was “no charge so just take it”. I think it’s worse than that to be honest… I think they didn’t fully torque the bolt 6 months ago and it’s been slowly working loose…. If it weren’t for the new tires in the mix I would have pushed...

    2020 explorer "twists" during acceleration

Issue was the combined abnormal tire wear, strange alignment behavior, poor handling at higher speeds and as of late weird repeatable behavior when accelerating. After chasing through multiple troubleshooting they ultimately found a loose bolt... and when properly tightened, all of the...

For those playing along at home.... Loose bolt on the suspension in question.
  35. B

    2020 explorer "twists" during acceleration

Yes…. Now that you say that it makes a lot of sense… I’ll try to crawl under and see if I can see anything (though doubt it..) but googling those symptoms (including handling at high speed and tire wear) that is my new front runner.

    2020 explorer "twists" during acceleration

its been at the dealer for all of these services... including last week when it came back with the steering wheel miss-aligned and still having an issue ( the new tires also had 50lbs of air in them... which I thought may be the issue and why Ididn't turn right around and go back to the dealer...
  37. B

    2020 explorer "twists" during acceleration

Yeah, they are off. and this is more than gentle nudge. And the "twist" is definately something in the power train... and repeatable ... step on the gas it twists up.... foot of the gas down. Almost like an engine mount or something... but only really noticeable at speed..... where as an...

    2020 explorer "twists" during acceleration

So I've been having an issue for a while and I'm not really sure what its related to... i don't think its a problem with the as-built vehicle, but probably some combination of a part / service / me not being able to explain it to the service... so posting it here since I've seen some good...
