    2003 Explorer XLT 4X4 V6 Transmission Problem

Thanks for the quick & detailed reply IMP. Unfortunately the door ID tag isn't too legible. The letter under the TR is only partially there and I can't really make it out, but it's definately not a "V". Could have been a D or a G? I'm told the transmission is most likely the 5R55W which...

    Changing front diff fluid

Hello, I hope you do not mind me jumping into this thread, but I was hoping someone might have a picture of where the front gear oil fill plug is on a 2001 Explorer XLT 4X4? I noticed some leaking coming from the passenger side diff seal and the main shaft seal. I know I'm going to have to...

Ok, I'm going to sound pretty stupid because I've never added gear oil, but can anyone tell me what type to use and where I should add it to my 2001 Ford Explorer 4X4? I was told it was leaking a bit through the seals in the front. I have no idea how to check the level and where to physical add...

    TPMS and Tire Sealant

Hello, I have a 2005 XLT Explorer equipped with TPMS for monitoring the tire pressure. My question is can I add a tire sealant to repair a small non- detectable leak without damaging the TPMS? The leak is so small that it takes a full week or more before it loses ~ 10PSI. Thanks, Joubster

    Extended Warranty $$

Thanks Jimbo. I feel the same way. I mean I bought a new truck so I wouldn't have to spend a ton of cash to keep fixing up older ones. I know what you mean by the red tape bs...if you don't follow all the the recommended maintenance schedules they can void the coverage. Anyone else care to...
