    2002 xlt tire help!

That looks good! My tires are getting down and I saw an ad in craigslist for 165/75/16 tires. Would that be too much strain on my truck?

2002-2005 FAQ regarding lifts, tires, etc

I need some help I have an 02 explorer XLT with the 16" stock rims and currently I have 235/70/16 tires. I was wondering what the best upgrade would be because I do some off roading and snow driving that gets semi deep. I want a tire that's bigger and beefier like an A/T but I know that the...

    Need new tires

I know it is possible I just don't wanna lose any MPG or have to calibrate for the bigger tires. I was wondering what's the biggest size I could go before I had to do that or lose mpg! I already get 15 mpg

I used the rust-oleum from auto zone, it's the gloss black trim paint then used a clear coat spray over it. It looks really good

I will! And any other mods I do to it. By any chance do you know what the max tire size for an 02 is with stock rims? I saw a lot of different answers on the site. 265/75/16 was the largest without rubbing?

The paint works really good, I recommend it. When you apply it it doesn't get uneven or bubbly as easily as some paints do and coats pretty good in just one coat..like I did in my pics. They were extremely faded so I wet sanded them a little and now that's how they look. I plan to paint them as...

I used the trim paint from autozone. It's the rust-oleum gloss black for trim. Was 5$ a can and got a clear coat spray, too. I also tinted my tail lights with the rust-oleum translucent pain then used clear coat on it. It looks good and looks like it's really gonna hold up. It looks a lot better...

Thanks Nate! I painted it on the truck. I masked off everything so that there was no over spray. It took longer masking off the entire vehicle than it did to paint it. haha. Good way to spend the day off, right?

Sick! I have my 02 and the trim has seen better days.. I have the same gold color as Mr.P but I think I am going to try to paint it black. And I was looking at bigger tires/rims and saw RoadBully's setup and it made me think of possibilities

@RoadBully How did you paint your trim? and did you have to get a lift or a body lift for those tires/rims?
