    I have a 2006 Explorer EB 4.0l with same issues, I replaced gas cap OEM and the EVAP vent solenoid, located up over rear axle passenger side. Fixed. Vapor Canister Vent Solenoid from rockauto.

    Last time I did hubs I started soaking those nuts with Aero-Kroil two weeks before I started working on them. They came off without any issues. Aero kroil is not cheap but its the best. If you know its needs to be done soak it ahead of time.

    Last year I purchased a new set of 4 hankook tires, tires are holding up good, however they are God awful noisy and I can't take it any longer. Mainly highway driving here and I need something quiet, are touring tires available for the Explorer? Don't use it for off road use.
