    I've got a 97 Mountie AWD that did the same deal.. Started making nasty sounds and I've yanked the front driveshaft until I get around to swapping in a real transfer case. Been that way for over a year now with no problems. I think the viscous coupler crapped out since my wife drives that SUV...
