coolant leak from top rear of engine
I have a 98 Explorer V8... same sorta issue... gonna have to remove the transmission to get to the freeze plug. I think there are two, so while I'm back there, going to change both. Big PITA, but 150k and still going strong.. this won't hold me back.- 98explorerltd

2006 Explorer V8 or 2007 or 2008 V6s
In my research, I've found that many 2006 Explorers V6es have radiator problems by 40k. Seems like there is a design issue. And replacement radiators are on backorder?? So the problems seems pretty prevelent. How about the V8s? Anyone with 2006 Explorer V8s have radiator problems...- 98explorerltd

How many miles do you have? 3 radiators... Im wondering when they fail and why the replacements don't work. I got problems with the stealerships... Would be curious what an honest mechanic would say about them.- 98explorerltd

I'm looking at buying a 2006-07 or 08 explorer... Sounds like you guys would discourage that with the radiator problems... how many miles are on your exs? Just trying to get a feel for when they will fail, if it is, indeed, a design flaw. Better question, did they make any fixes in the 07 or...- 98explorerltd
