A4LD - Rebuild it or maybe just the VB?
I had the same problem with my 96 Ranger XLT 2 yrs ago it turned out to be the Torque convertor. I talked to a tranny guy and it is a common problem. If this doesn't work it is probably the bands in the tranny.- pusecat74

96 Ranger XLT Shift cable
I am new to this. I have a 96 Ranger XLT. The bracket that holds the shift cable in place broke. I went to Ford and purchased a new shift cable. Now that the new cable is in place it will not shift. Not even by hand on the tranny. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Don't need any help...- pusecat74
