Cracked Fuel filler neck and P0455
My explorer would not pass emissions inspection with that code coming up. Not sure what long term problems you may have. I found a used filler neck on ebay for $75 that fixed the problem. Took about 1-2 hours to change.- ericg75

Coolant Leak - Passenger side
I can't seem to locate the heater control valve but what I'm thinking (and dreading) is that it's the heater core. The floor is not wet however I bet if I turn on the defroster it's not going to make any heat or it will reak of coolant. I'll check on it tonight .- ericg75

Coolant Leak - Passenger side
This is a very accurate description of the problem I'm currently having. Coolant dripping from the bottom of the evaporator core right near the firewall(crawled undeneath and verified). However the two hoses directly above the evaporator are dry. So where is my leak coming from??? I cannot...- ericg75

Cracked Fuel filler neck and P0455
I think I found the main cause or at least a big contributor to the P0455 code I 'm getting on my 1999 Explorer. The insert on the fuel filler neck has some pretty large cracks in it. First question, I that insert is plastic, does anybody know for sure? Second, has anyone had success in...- ericg75

Transmission Fluid Change
Sounds like you're describing a flush. I need to drop the pan to change the filter. I think there are some threads around here that describe in detail the process you're suggesting.- ericg75

Transmission Fluid Change
So I climbed under the Explorer this morning and snapped these pictures. http://s15.photobucket.com/albums/a375/ericg75/Explorer%20Tranny/ I read what Lee said about his 1998 SOHC. Am in the same boat? It doesn't look like there's enough room to remove the pan.- ericg75

Oil pan rusting
Changed the oil on the Explorer this weekend and I noticed a few rust spots on the oil pan. Before things get too bad I'd like to fix it by replacing it or by using some of that rust killer stuff. Anyone have experience with either? Eric- ericg75

Transmission identification
Trying to figure which transmission my Explorer has. I'm guessing 4R55E or 5R55E. How do I tell and does it really matter when I go to change the fluid and replace the filter? Eric- ericg75
