The code reader shows "000" which at least lets me know the batteries in the code reader work but really does not help in working out the problem.
It has been suggested to me that I need to make sure the diagnostic connector needs to be cleaned really well...

I purchased a Ford Code Reader for OBD1 vehicles which gave no readings and I also tried the volt meter and jumper wire method which also did not give any readings.
Its like the Engine Service light is on and there is an idle issue with the motor but there...
I have a 94 Ranger it has the 2.3 engine and it has the Engine Service light on.
The problem I have is that I cannot get any codes from the diagnostic connector myself and when I took it to Autozone they could not get any codes either so this is my first problem.
The engine is idleing...
