Thanks all I'll probably chance it. I'm thinking its the gauge. I'll take the long way home which keeps me in contact with civilization in case I have problem. I'll check the connections and change the T stat and cap tommorow. Anybody know where the sensor(s) are located?

30 minutes in to my drive to work. It was pegged to high within 4 minutes on startup after sitting for four hours.

about 30k mile ago. It just seems odd that the gauge would fluctuate immediately(within 2 seconds) on startup.
