Unhappy ownership
Well, today I fired off a sarcastic letter to Ford, but don't expect much. To add to my grief, I received a "Hi, how ya doin' letter" from the salesman who sold me this thing, so he's getting a :thumbdwn: letter too. My next option is the consumer protection agency, but then it starts...- jimmyz79

Occasionally, Yes Rare - Absolutley Not I've read up other sites, and I must say that there are many (read - not few) pissed off Ex owners, and that is not the definition of Rare. My definition of Rare is a '63 split-window 'vette. I myself usually place confidence in factual matters.- jimmyz79

Unhappy ownership
I've been to two different dealers, The one I bought it from and another. Same answer. The Ford rep guy who got it touch with me because of my letter - Same answer. I have heard some hear say that there is some real trouble brewing on the inside of Ford on how they really screwed up a good thing...- jimmyz79

Unhappy ownership
Guys, I know this is an Explorer enthusiast site, but my 2004 is a turd. There is alot of things wrong with this vehicle. The ride (sux), the trans (who knows what up there), but the most annoying is that there has got to be something wrong with the ECM (PCM?) or the "Fly by Wire" electronic...- jimmyz79

2004 Explorer Eddie Bauer V6 upshifting
I'm dealing with this issue right now. It seems as thou the ECM (PCM?) is telling the POS electronic throttle to reduce engine revs - then shift - then regain throttle position abruptly. I have gone to the dealer twice. They put the new trans solenoid in once, re-programmed it twice and put in...- jimmyz79

Electronic Throttle
Anyone having problems with this? My throttle response is horrid. If I slam the pedal down, the power comes on in what seems to be an eternity. Also, there is a "slight hesitation" then a "spike up" in throttle control with every upshift with no movement of the gas pedal (keeping your...- jimmyz79

04 explorer very ruff suspension
I'm a little late on this thread, but heres another vote for a crappy ride. I just picked this thing up (2004 XLT Sport 4-door) and it seems as though this thing is way over sprung. An independent suspension-ed vehicle should not ride like this. Funny how the test vehicle we drove didn't drive...- jimmyz79
