How many spare tires have gone missing.
My spare tire is missing, but damned if I know where it went. Just looked under there one day and it wasn't there. I have a new tire/wheel to put there, just need to get the two mounted, then find a new spare tire mount. Anybody have any recommendations?- otterfluff

Broken Shock Mount
I managed to shear off the end of the lower front shock mount on a '94 X while trying to replace the shocks. Am I screwed, or is there a way to replace this mount (either myself or by a suspension shop??) I really, really hope I don't need to replace that whole stabilizer thing...- otterfluff

Flowmaster Exhaust system...UPDATE.
I just put a Flowmaster 50 system on my Ex last week, and I couldn't be happier with the sound. A nice, quiet rumble, until you open up the throttle. I open up the throttle lots. :D- otterfluff

vacuum hose?
Just a couple weeks ago I went through this with my 94 Ex's vacuum system. I had blown a cap off. Drove myself nuts trying to find which hose wasn't hooked up until I figured out it was suppsed to be capped. :banghead: There are 6 hoses that should plug into that tree (there are 7 stems...- otterfluff

Am I an exhaust addict?
I don't think you'll ever be happy with an exhaust, with what you're looking for. From what I can tell, you put a new, loud exhaust in....then tear it out when you're accustomed to the sound and don't notice it as much anymore, and put something louder in. You're doomed. :D- otterfluff

Glacier991 - Damn, that's a clean engine, especially on a '92. The horrible rust problems up here in Michigan make my '94's engine compartment look like it's been sitting in the ocean, no matter how well I take care of it (not as much can be said for prev. owners). :banghead:- otterfluff

A/C Question
This doesn't seem like a good idea to me. Besides needing the AC to work when you have the defrost on (removes moisture, prevents window fogging), my understand was that the compressor also needed to cycle during the winter in order to keep the AC system lubricated and properly functioning.- otterfluff

Is there a way to manually make the power Antenna go down?
There's a wire that goes from your deck to the antenna which tells the antenna when your deck is on/off. You could spice a simple on/off switch into it. The wire is usually blue. If you have an aftermarket sound system, make sure you only put a switch on the part of the wire going to the...- otterfluff

Rear Brake Adjustment?
The rear drums are supposed to be auto-adjusting. If I remember correctly (I believe it points this out in the manual, which I don't have with me), a stop or two in reverse is all it takes for the brakes to auto-adjust.- otterfluff

Clay bar Vs. Paint Cleaner
Awesome, thanks for the feedback all. When I do this, this week or next, I'll set aside a full afternoon so I can do both.- otterfluff

Clay bar Vs. Paint Cleaner
Quick question: Which yields better results - using a clay bar or using a liquid paint cleaner (such as the one that is part of the Maguire's 3 step polish/wax system)? Or both?- otterfluff

'93 Sport with CEL on, stauls at a stop, loss of power
Listen for any hissing (vacuum leaks) under the hood. I had these exact same symptoms, ended up that I had just blown a vacuum cap off.- otterfluff

Exhaust....
Well, I'm sold. I've ordered my 50-series cat-back system (and a new cat as well, mine's partially clogged). I can't wait until my Ex sounds like that (or close, I won't be running dual)- otterfluff

Sticky Throttle Cable
Perhaps try removing and cleaning the throttle body? It could be sticking in there. Also try lubing anything on the pedal side.- otterfluff

Exhaust Bolts Question
I'm going to be replacing my exhaust fairly soon (new cat, muffler, and pipe), and I'm trying to decide if I want to do it myself or not. Couple questions: 1. What size bolts are used to connect the cat-inlet to the collector, and what size is used for the cat-outlet (and where can I find...- otterfluff

too much info on gear lube
I just did this to my '94 yesterday. Best I could tell from digging around was that 75w-90 with 4oz limited-slip additive is the correct stuff to use. At least I hope it is, I don't really want to do it again.- otterfluff

Vacuum Crisis
Driving today, and notice a vacuum leak noise coming from under the hood along with a seriously rough idle. I get under there and find where the leak is. The problem is that I cannot find where the hose that should go to this spot is. Can someone with a '94 please verify if there is something...- otterfluff
