What did you do with your rims? Its funny, I sold my 2003 charcoal grey lightning and went with a limited explorer (family thing) Be careful with modifications, you can blow your engine very easy with the wrong mods. I had mine running low 12"s in the 1/4 mile. A good tune, CAI and a 4 lb lower...

The sound is deeper but overall not to bad from the cab. Has a nice rumble when WOT

Ask for the code/codes it produced, you can look up the codes yourself and pinpoint what may be wrong. did you tamper with your throttle position sensor? If you have a scanner, scan it to see if it through any codes, I f you dont have one Auto Zone will do a free scan for you. It may through a soft code momentarily. Recheck all your hoses. I installed the same kit on my 04 4.6 and it was thrat...

Just a thought, it might actually be your belts, make sure you look your belt over good and ensure that it is new with no cracks in it. Also check you MAF sensor and ensure the airflow arrow is pointing towards your TB; the silver side should be on the bottom. :thumbsup:

I see you have a KB, are you running a stock bottom end? I have had a couple of supercharged vehicles in the past that I toyed with. Do you have injectors, fuel pump, timing and A/F dial in? I just found this board and do plan and have been searching for info. I bought a 3rd gen Limited model...

Abraxsis, you say that you save an extra $200 bucks, I can get the K&N kit for around $200. so maybe I can see $75 but you are just getting a filter/plate like I see in the KKM kit you speak of. The K&N provides a plastic elbow that replaces the stock rubber one, which I am sure it helps smooth...

TTT for this old thread as I need for some info. I know there has to be other kits out there other than the MAC and the K&N, If anyone has any input or reccomendations please post. I am in need of a CAI kit.
