Has anyone had any issues with the replacement idler pulleys for a 1995 explorer 4.0 that come without flanges? Some posts have suggested replacing the bearings to reuse the original style pulley, but why do it if it is not a problem? Anyone know the correct torque for the bolt.

I found the same problem with the tilt lever. I left it on and worked around it. Really was not as hard as it looked.

To all who responded with all the help THANKS! It turned out to be a wire was pinched in the steering column and after 170,000 miles it went. Down side, I purchased a new switch from Ford. Hopefully they will take it back. If not anyone interestead send me a pm

Thanks for the continued support. You guys are posting faster than I can get to work on the car. I will try to get a look at it with a meter this weekend. I do not have the auto light out feature (LOM= Lights out module?). Is there a procedure to test the switch? If not I will apply...
