Hello all, I posted about my tranny probs a month ago and still have some issues. 1995 EB 4x4 4.0 190,000 Well after problems with clunking and shifting slippages after 4x4'ing I decided to change the fluid and filter. The only reason I ask is I have a junkyard near me that I called the other day to find out the pricing on it for you ... They told me 35.00 if I pulled it and 50.00 if they did. Well I believe it is time to either replace the PCM with a new one or go to the junk yard and test the theory of a bad PCM for 35.00-50.00- doubledflooring

also have you tried starting it with slight pressure on the gas pedal. And check the TPS Also pull the MAF and have it tested. have we verified if there is spark at all cylinders? After the stall- doubledflooring

Shot in the dark: Pull both battery and altenator and have tested also check cables and all connections at both and clean. While you're doing this I'm still researching other possiblities- doubledflooring

Did you have the PCM unplugged will doing the rebuild? Think about this one too .... Is there any chance a surge could of touched one connector to the pcm ... I.e. Static electricity .... Thinking if you come back after all this tracing with nothing ... the simplist explaination tends to be...- doubledflooring

Yes ... but it is basically a 3 position switch motor and the low is known to go out. If it is killing you to know ... Crawl under the truck ... locate the transfer case ... directly behind the transmission. the side facing the rear of the truck is where the shift motor is located ...- doubledflooring

Just took it out for a test and then topped it off ... then test again ... tranny back to normal and a slight whine so I will do the VB next weekend and fluid/filter again (hopefully the last time)- doubledflooring

I did check the bolts but blanked about the gasket ... I think i'm goin to do a full flush with a new filter in a week ... if it holds ... when i drop the pan for that I'll pull the valve body and inspect and service .... how much should I expect for a rebuild kit? Did it have this problem before the upper rebuild? Also when it shuts off what is the fuel pressure at ... and is it staying there? I.e. ... 36 ignition on .... 30 running ... is it between that after the engine shuts off ? it should stay between 36 and 30 ... because the fuel pump should...- doubledflooring

rough idle right after startup
Have you scanned for codes ... just because the SES doesn't light up ... doesn't mean there isn't a code stored in there. Mine did the same thing and I scanned it just for SNG's and found a MAF code .... cleaned the MAF and problem went away.- doubledflooring

I'm not an expert by any means ... But have you serviced your Diffs and transfer case recently? If not ... you may want to. It might fix the problem. Also there is an acuator motor on the transfer case that could be the culprit. If you remove it ... you can manually select 4x4 low and...- doubledflooring
