Fog light "on" settings.
OK. Now all I have to do is learn what all the lights and symbols mean. My wife drives the car and we've only had it a few weeks. That gives me a good reason to drive her Explorer while she is forced to drive my ( less nice ) Suburban.- Kevin Carr

Fog light "on" settings.
My old 2006 Limited did not have DRL's, which I think is the factor here. What I'm thinking is that my DRL's are set to ON and they might be turning on and off based on outside lighting conditions. So maybe the headlights are on early in the morning but change to DRL's when coming out of the...- Kevin Carr

Fog light "on" settings.
Do you think this applies to the 2016? I'm trying to figure out why my fog lights go on and off in different conditions when the headlights are in Auto mode.- Kevin Carr

Fog light "on" settings.
That I know. I'm referring to the fog lights and whether they come on or off when the DRL's come on. Not the headlights.- Kevin Carr

Fog light "on" settings.
Getting old is hell. I think my diminishing brain was confusing DRL's with FOGs since the DRL's are configurable ( on and off ) in the drivers settings. This would explain everything except why I witnessed the FOGs go off and on while watching my wife drive up our driveway while the headlights...- Kevin Carr

Fog light "on" settings.
I can manually turn my parking lights on without the headlights and then push the dash button to turn on the fog lights at the same time. But all that changes when set to auto.- Kevin Carr

Check engine light 2016 eco-boost
That's kinda what I'm thinking. Ford loves charging a diagnostic fee when they know half the time the gas cap ( old style ) is simply not tight. Maybe the CEL senses a problem with the closure of the capless vent that goes off when the vent finally seals itself. IDK? The last time my wife filled...- Kevin Carr

Fog light "on" settings.
I understand what you say, and we have the identical car. Please look at the option to turn on or off the fog lights in the driver settings you have on the left side of the steering wheel that display next to the tach ( not the button on the dash left of the steering wheel ). That setting must...- Kevin Carr

10-4. Will keep this in mind. Although I did not get that worded message - just the light. But maybe related. Thanks- Kevin Carr

Fog light "on" settings.
The wipers are on rain sense, so technically they are always on, but they were not activated or swiping while I was noticing this issue. And yes, "Auto" is on but I don't have DRL as they are not required here in the US. I'm not with the car right now to confirm but I see other 2016 explorers in...- Kevin Carr

Check engine light 2016 eco-boost
OK. There is a you tube video put on by a Ford employee showing how to use the funnel supplied in the explorer spare tire area to insert it into the fuel spout numerous times and use WD40 to clean out and clear the code. And the engine light came on right after the dealer filled the tank when I...- Kevin Carr

I haven't seen a setting for DRL's, but I'll look for that. But I know the lights are not always on during daylight. I'll keep playing with it. Might just be a Fordism.- Kevin Carr

Fog light "on" settings.
So your fog lights are set to auto in the configurable driver settings? Mine is and I just tested them - they go off when facing bright sunlight but go off in the shade. And they will no go on at all when I turn try to turn them on via the dash button. Very odd!- Kevin Carr

Check engine light 2016 eco-boost
I agree, but the next dealership is 25 miles away. I think I'll get AutoZone to run an OBD. But I still wonder if it's the problematic cap-less fuel filler. Thanks- Kevin Carr

Fog light "on" settings.
Can anyone explain what the owners manual does not about turning the fog light function on in the drivers settings? I know the dash button turns them on in manual mode, but how do they work in auto mode when the option is turned on in the drivers settings? On auto, the fog lights go on and off...- Kevin Carr

Check engine light 2016 eco-boost
2016 platinum with less than 10,000 miles. Check engine light comes on frequently but goes off within 1 to 5 days. No codes. Anyone having this issue? I suspect the cap-less gas filler.- Kevin Carr

Missing roof-rack thumbwheels
No snap caps on my 2016 but there are 6 torx bolts on each rail that look spaced apart so that you can add up to 3 rails. So which ones do you remove to install the thumb wheels? Any of them?- Kevin Carr

2016 / 2017 Explorer - hitch cover removal
new to forum with a couple of questions. 1. I'm guessing Ford foolishly did not equip the rear hatch of the 2016 Explorer with a glass the opens since I can't find a button nor any mention in the owners manual??? 2. Trying to get the hitch cover off but it seems like I'm gonna pull the whole...- Kevin Carr
