I got hold of a 1994 4x4 Explorer. The front wiper has been straight wired under the hood and only operates on a fast speed. Why would someone do this? Is there maybe a box that operates the proper operation and maybe it went bad and the previous didnt know a damn thing about it?:rolleyes:

Thanks. I´ll definitely post what I find out. I fixed the frozen lifgate problem by unjamming the mechanism after removing the inner panel. And after a torturous attempt to fix the ¨door ajar¨problem I gave up and pulled out the fuse. I´ll gladly go without a speedometer until I figure something...

Thanks for the replies. The only thing i haven't checked is all the spark plugs. I'm betting THAT isn't the problem. But the rocker arm problem is the same thing my dad says. He thinks it sounds like a rocker arm could be loose or a compromised lifter. Guess i'll have to start taking stuff off...

I just got hold of a 1996 Explorer XLT 4x4 V6. I am not sure which V6 it is but I think there was only one in the 96 models. Dont know for sure. Anyway, the truck sit for like 2 years. We put a battery on it and started it and there's a bad knock. It sounds just like someone's living right...

Flushing an engine is good practice but consider with an engine that has alot of miles on it you get all kinds of buildups. I have seen someone use motorflush in an old engine and it got rid of the lifter peck but caused alot of noise in the low end because it cleaned out the buildup that was...
