Blend door acyuator blues
I too ground down a socket. It takes a lot of patience. the thing I did was to keep felling the bolt with my finger, and found references and mentally memorized where it was. Thin you have to slide the socket wrench and feel your way to fitting it on the bolt. Like I said it takes a lot of...- brownie64

Thanks: It's a real load off my mind. No it's the actuator I can move the blend door manually. I think they just sent me the wrong one the rocker gear in the original was bigger. The new one would move as I changed the temp, but it wouldn't stop when it got to the end just kept going until...- brownie64

Eatc Well I bit the bullet and took apart the EATC, and it was a bad connection I soldered it now I have cold A/C. Now if I can just get the blend door situation under control I'll have it all fixed and save around $1800.00. Thanks guys again.:D- brownie64

Yes I'm positive it's the actuator when I plugged it in it moved per the temp. setting it just didn't know when to stop when it reached the end. When I took the actuator apart there was grease everywhere all over the electrical circuit board everywhere. I do move the blend door manually by using...- brownie64

So if that switch is working it should cycle properly assuming everything else is ok. So that brings me back to my EATC I really don't want to muck with this thing. Why does it always got to be the difficult expensive things, and there is still the PCM which controls voltage to the relay. I...- brownie64

compressor cycle For the sake of argument let's say all the pressure switches high/low are good. the Freon is filled perfectly, and all the relays, and fusses are good. What makes the clutch decide hay it's time to shut off I'm getting too cold, and oh its time to engage I need cool air. Is...- brownie64

Yes all the fuses show continuity, and I swapped the relays and they are good. I came across the article you are talking about, and plan to try to remove the circuit board tomorrow and see what I can find wish me luck. Just out of curiosity will it hurt anything to engage the clutch by jumping...- brownie64

A/C clutch
clutch Well today I looked at the clutch and the gap did look a little big. However wile trying to engage the clutch so I could take the bolt out I pushed the auto button, and it stopped working even when I pushed the max button again. I afraid there may be a issue with the EATC not sending...- brownie64

No its the actuator because I'm manually moving the blend door now I just took the gear out of the bad actuator, and move it to hot in the winter, cold in the summer. The problem I am having is the actuators that go to the EATC have an extra mounting plate on them that will not bolt to my blend...- brownie64

Blend door I wrote a post to this but it must of got lost???? Yes I did hear a noise it was a clicking noise, and the car would only blow out heat. Mine was behind the glove box. I think newer models are located behind the center console not sure what year they changed it. Doesn't matter if...- brownie64

Called the guy and he informed me that all EATC actuators have this extra mounting plate. So no help there he wanted the part number of my old one, and like a real idiot I threw it away didn't think I needed it anymore. So I guess I'm SOL. Was doing some research and found out that in the year...- brownie64

???? I have the electronic automatic temp. control. But the actuator that it calls for has an extra mounting bracket attached to it for some reason. It needs a housing like the manual actuator to fit. I'm wondering if the actuator is made for the newer Explorers hence the new mounting...- brownie64

I bought a blend door actuator from Dorman, it was the one for the EATC unit and the one it called for, but there was a extra part that had to be removed it looked like this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004SF0YD6?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01 The one that looks like...- brownie64

A/C clutch
walked outside with a small hammer to peck on it like you said, and the instant I turned the A/C on I hear the clutch click on. It did cycle a few times but it was cooler outside so maybe it was doing what it is supposed to. If so it's a miracle. but I will keep the hammer close. By the way if...- brownie64

A/C clutch
My clutch on my A/C won't kick in. This is what I found out so far. I checked the compressor connection harness and there was 13.5 volts. But the clutch did kick in when I jumped it at the relay so it will work. The low pressure switch shows over 12 volts, but when I jump it the clutch doesn't...- brownie64
