4x4 conversion
Yep checked ratios first. The powertrain harness is the same. The t case has its own harness that runs under gas tank down pass side to 4x4 module in dash. Front diff always engaged no wires there. 4x4 conversion
Yes the 06 is 2wd. Both trucks will have the engine out so going ahead and changing tranny, front diff, and driveshafts is really not that much more work. Once the engine is out the transmission is only a crossmember, lines, and some plugs from coming out. Not really looking for folks to tell me...- slydogge

Hey guys I’ve searched and searched and don’t see anyone who has done this on the 06-10. I have a 06 that I have pulled the engine to replace and I bought a 07 with a good 4.0 to pull and put in my 06. is a 1997 4.o with composit intake better than my 1992 or 1994 explorer motors?
hey guys found a 1997 ohv 4.0 engine in the junk yard. if i get it will it work in my truck? like will my computer run it? it did not look much different then mine just had the plastic intake. thanks- slydogge

How to: Project Frankentranny - A4LD / 4R55E / 5R55E Hybrid Project
hey what is the model torque converter you are going to use. also as long as every thing looks good as far as bearings, gears, bushings, etc, should i just do a soft parts rebuild? with tc and new front bushing of course. what all really needs to be upgraded? i would want to just use the stock...- slydogge

can i put a transfer case on my 4x2 a4ld?
please let em know i know the manual you have to change the tail shaft on a manual but do you have to on an auto? like i said it was just rebuilt so i dont want to go back through it. thanks- slydogge

hey guys i just got my 4x2 a4ld rebuilt. now i am doing a 4x4 conversion and i want to make sure i can use my transmission. if i just take the tailshaft housing off my 4x2 and put the 4x4 coupler to mate it to the transfer case will that work? or is the whole tailshaft diferent? thanks for the...- slydogge

hey guys i am making a 4x4 out of my 4x2 92 explorer i have found a 2 door 4x4 doner vehicle. what all parts are differnt b/t a 4 door and 2 dr 4x4. i was thinkig only the rear driveshaft but i dont know. thanks for your help- slydogge

massive transsmission leak! stranded and cant get home!!!
hey ok guys i have an update. it must have overheated. i put some more oil in it and it drove home 600 miles. now when i drive it around town for about 30 min it boils over again. what the heck is causing this! the transmission was just rebuilt. can it be a bad torque converter? please help. an...- slydogge
