Help 2000 Tranny Explorer XLS
When the shop dropped down the pan, the fluid was not a cherry red but a brownish pink and darker than the usual trans fluid color, I think this was why they mentioned the clutch pack as the source, also in the bottom of the pan was a black silky soot, much like carbon of a pencil between the...- bri36

Im not sure if it is delayed in 4th -5th I will have to check it out. New trans but one symptom still there
I dont know this to be true, but have been told by others that when it comes to rebuilds, buyer beware, as it is not uncommon to replace only the failed parts and gaskets with a rebuild, unlike actually rebuilding the trans the way it should be.
