Thanks I will, I dropped the wheels by my neighbors shop and one of his boys will try the wheels on for clearance. I thought of maybe a 5-6mm spacer ,but I don't think, that's a wise thing to do .That would eliminate the support on the hub flange.

Thanks so much for your reply, wheel interchangeability may not be as simple as years gone by that's for sure . I believe these mustang rims are a 44mm offset.
