Explorer Pete pointed out a probably easier way to deal with the wires. Instead of diconnecting them at the overdrive swtch, you can disconnect the from the column. The green arrow points to it in the below picture. Thanks Explorer Pete!

Help I have tried to search and only found one post with no replies. The rubber shift boot on my steering column had deteriated and needs replaced. I can't find a replacement online. Has anyone replaced this? What's the part number? Is there an easy way of putting it on? Thanks!
