When I look at these I will put them in 4x4 and go forward a couple feet stop put it in reverse back up a foot or two.I do that a few times and listen to hear how much slop there is.Then I turn the wheel and listen to the front joints,this is different than any of the other ones.It's not...- Rich Jura

Well that's a positive,I do not use them on dry pavement but yes I did put it in 4Hi and turn the wheel and do a 'U'turn type move.I've had a 91,92,93 and 96.Sold the 91 with 257K miles the 93 with 187K.My 96 has almost 140.Have never heard this sound before.Is the 99 transfer case different...- Rich Jura

I'm looking at a 1999 4door, the 4x4 control has auto,4hi and 4lo.When I put it in 4hi and make a U turn rather tight it makes an ungodly sound till you apply power.The seller took it to a shop they say the u joints are OK and that the fluid coupling in the transfer case just acts this...- Rich Jura

96 Front Diff leaking
thanks for the reply, I've put about a pint in it twice in about 3 months. It seems to be blowing out of the vent tube. Later Rich- Rich Jura

96 Front Diff leaking
Hello My wife's 96 sport is leaking from what appears to be a breather on the front diff, is this common? What I don't understand is that it's summer and not being in 4WD why would it be spitting now. Thanks Rich- Rich Jura
