Yeah, but that 86 went to the crusher.... actually the bone yard, thinking about seeing if the springs are still available from said boneyard for the Ranger.- I_love_toyota

Ford Swappability
Sorry, I was under a lot of marital stress back then, and myX got better mileage than my van ever did. and when I killed the van, bought and reincarnated the BII as well. then the 5 speed junked itself 600 miles later, should have kept it, but it annoyed the...- I_love_toyota

2.8 carby to 4.0 efi transmission interchange
Yeah that will be the struggle. Think it will be realtively painless. PITA, but fairly straight forward. Ranger isn't beat THAT badly, and have found out that $700 from now I could have a title. might go that route instead.- I_love_toyota

2.8 carby to 4.0 efi transmission interchange
ws gonan go 84 bII to 94 Ranger, same clip as say a 95 or so Xploder. Can buy the Bronco for $200. I dunno. What about the gas tank, how about the fuel pump? Internal, or external? are the tanks the same?- I_love_toyota

2.8 carby to 4.0 efi transmission interchange
thanks, so the only real PITA will be the wiring, taking the brain and harness over to the new platform with me. ANd that puts me back to the cv style driveshaft, but I have the custom one out of the 94 that can be shortened to fit. Now, for the real perverse questions...- I_love_toyota

2.8 carby to 4.0 efi transmission interchange
Just what it says, I have a paperless rolled 94 with a 4.0, and have found a sick and dead 84 (well there are probably 15 I could point at that fit that description, what color do you want?) BII for $150. will my 4.0 mate to its tranny, or do I need to do a tranny transfer swap as well...- I_love_toyota

Am I really the only one who does this ?
Go to your local favorite detail shop, and ask for some Qwik Solv. It is a Mark V product, and works like a charm. Other than that, any solvent, diesel, etc will work. My opinion may not count for much, but I do own a detail shop.- I_love_toyota

can anyone identify my wheels?
They look like ranger wheels, 95 ish or newer, and I would be tempted to say 2x at that, but seemingly those were all 14's, so 4x I am sure. I hate dial up, as well as my x... All the pics finally loaded by the time i was done replying, and I see the redundancy. Sorry- I_love_toyota

Retro Look on Explorer???
As sonn as the guy at mercury.net replies to my email, I will post a pic of the Merc looking thing I talked about earlier. I think the coolest look, and If I do anything with thisone that I am betrothed to, it will be this: would be the volare station wagon look from fantasy island, no doors...- I_love_toyota

BII 4" lift
Didn't know that it was a lesser axle, I was just thinking where I had the two, if apples were apples..... First attempt at owning Ford, other than a few temporary rides a few years ago, ya know, buy cheap and sell high? So, alot of common knowledge that y'all have, I don't yet. And still...- I_love_toyota

Retro Look on Explorer???
Um, mercury made a 4x that was sorta like a sedan delivery which is like a wagon, and we drive station wagons (why nobody else gets that I dunno) My Gpa drove one while working for ATT in the 5o's. Wasn't very many, and I think ATT had a special commission, try a search online and see what...- I_love_toyota

:D So.............. Bro in law wrecks his trusty dusty bII.(86 2.9 v6) I want the 5 spd, and lever operated transfer in my XXXploder. Will it work? Is my crank tapped for a pilot already, or did ford not do that to auto motors? I know ALL Toy is tapped, but this is first exploration...- I_love_toyota

194k, and similar but not as bad problem. Just bought this thing, and was told that it had a rebuilt tranny, not the only reason for the buy, but felt a little better about having to settle for an american car, and a Ford at that. When cold, no d or OD, and only have 1 and 2 if I manually...- I_love_toyota
