IAC overspeed error
RE:With the hood open When I unplugged the conector at the ECM the resistence did not change. So I then pluged the ECM and IAC back in. When I started the car up all is back to normal ! No raceing idle. I guess you pegged it with a short at a conector. Thanks Opera House. Its the ones...- Tim Wagor

IAC overspeed error
Unplug electrical connector on the IAC After unplugging the IAC the engine did indeed stop running. So it looks to be a ECM problem. The ECM is i assume- Engine Control Module. So is it something that can be replaced without takeing to a dealer? Thanks for the advice on unpluging IAC! Tim- Tim Wagor

IAC overspeed error
My '98 explorer is idleing real high. It will do about 20mph without putting foot on gas peddle. Hooked a code reader up and it brings up code :P1506 Idle Air Control Overspeed Error Of corse i know about a IAC, I chaged that about a year ago. Any ideas as where to start? Thanks Tim- Tim Wagor

Thanks for all the input on this everywone. I'm going to do a look-over for any obvious problems again and then take glaciers advice and get a real scanner hooked up to it. Yes I did reset after changing the sensor After checking again with scanner today the code it brings up is: P0133 upstream 02 sensor circuit slow response What could be a cause for a slow response? I really want to fix this myself if possible. Any suggestions as where to look or...- Tim Wagor

Recently my check engine light came on so I went to autozone and their scanner flags the front driver side 02 sensor. Replaced that sensor today and still getting check engine light. So now what? DPFE Sensor EGR Help!
I recently had the hose that blow exhaust to my DPFE sensor break off. The result was a mini blow torch against my upper intake manifold thus a hole the size of your finger. All this means a new upper intake, new DPFE sensor and new set of the hoses up from ehaust to the sensor. Does any...- Tim Wagor

Wont shift into 4WD

Wont shift into 4WD
My '98 explorer quit working to day, bummer. When i turn the knob to 4WD high or low nothing happens. No light come on indicating 4WD. But the 4WD light on dash flash randomly together(high and low) Any ideas as to what the problem is? Any body ever have anything like this happen...- Tim Wagor
