    Oil Leak on '97 SOHC 4L????

    someone on this bulletin board has a '97 SOHC that has a persistent leak. His dealer has replaced the rear main seal 3 times and his leak remains a problem. I don't know if that was a common defect or not.

    My '97 X has the 4L SOHC V6 with 64,000 miles and has suddenly developed a substantial leak, presumably from the engine. It is dripping off the bottom of the oil pan/cover directly onto the exhaust pipe causing smoke & stench. The local dealer has decided that I need new head gaskets on BOTH...
