GMC Envoy... good or bad?
The Envoys are nice. They have a pretty smooth ride (compared to the X) and are well appointed. I like them.- Thorny

MP3 Players
The Pioneer DEH-P7400MP and DEH-P7500MP are both good. But you could get the DEH-P5500MP for a little less. Same sound quality, just slightly fewer features. Overall good unit.- Thorny

Okay...99 pathfinder vs. 99 explorer
Hmmmmmmm....OK Stephen, I never said that he said that he liked the 4Runner better. I also never denied that, in many cases, it is more reliable than the Explorer. As far as arrogance and sliced bread......what the hell.- Thorny

Okay...99 pathfinder vs. 99 explorer
Damn dude. You own an Explorer and obviously care enough about it to be a member of this board. Why would you talk so badly about it? If you have such a hard on for the 4Runner, get one and sell your X.- Thorny

Shady Business
Today my dad took the family car, a '99 Taurus SE, to the shop to get an oil change and replace the antifreeze. No big deal. However, he said that the repair shop made a mistake and broke the thermostat. The shop wanted my dad to pay for the cost of the thermostat and the labor to replace it...- Thorny

Question About 00M12
My symptoms are these: When I go to start my car in the morning after a cold night, the engine immediately shoots up to 1800-2000 RPMs. Right after that, the tachometer drops to read about 400-500 RPMs and the vehicle shakes violently. Then it will surge up to about 2000 RPMs and then it will...- Thorny

Odometer
I assume that it is a mechanical odometer. The gears that turn the numbers could be stuck or just stopped working. I don't think the speedometer has much to do with how the odometer works, otherwise your speedometer would not be working either.- Thorny

Whoa! I just saw another lifted explorer - College Station, TX
Lifted Explorers are rare, but I think I am one of very few to have ever witnessed a lifted Isuzu Amigo. It was a late model with what looked to be a 2-3" body lift. Passed it on I-85 just south of Atlanta a couple of months ago. Strangest thing I've ever seen.- Thorny

The only problem with Bleach White is that it is very corrosive. If you don't get all of the excess off of the rims, it rusts real quick.- Thorny

Question About 00M12
So this is the Owner Notification Program that Ford has to repair the faulty manifold gaskets and o-rings that are causing idle problems in the 98 X. What are the age and mileage requirements for the problem to be fixed? Can I take it to the dealer from whom I purchased my X or do I need to...- Thorny

best tire shine,cleaner,ect...
Rinse the tires, let them dry, and then use some STP "Son of a Gun." It's the white foam stuff. Don't have to wipe off or anything. It justs soaks in. Good shine for about 5-6 days.- Thorny

4.0 OHV vs. 4.0 SOHC
I don't have any experience with the OHV, so I was wondering: What are the biggest differences between the OHV and the SOHC engines. How do they compare as far as power?- Thorny
