T-case rebuld problems
The "zzzz" noise goes away if you accelerate or shift the tranny into nuetral. The power delivery is unaffected. Hit the gas and the truck accelerates. The problems usually occur above 40mph.- tweeeeka

Gonna drain the fluid this weekend. Maybe the shift motor could be the problem?- tweeeeka

T-case rebuld problems
T-case rebuild problems My 97 Explorer sport 4.0 SOHC control trac with what I believe is a 4405 tcase (shift pattern auto-4x4hi-4x4lo) The t-case started making noise when coasting and downshifting (a loud ZZZZ noise). Took it in to the Ford dealer and they rebuilt the t-case. Now it's making...- tweeeeka

Rebuilding a 5R55E, upgrades?
Actually turned out to be the T-case. Strange. Everyone that heard the sound immeadiately said torque converter, but it turned out the t-case wasn't unlocking. Oh well, all fixed now.- tweeeeka

Rebuilding a 5R55E, upgrades?
Drove it back from the tranny shop today (my guy is scared of it cause he's never worked on a 5R55E, so he tried to blame the noise on the T-case) and it's most definately the torque converter. So I gotta find a shop in the bay area that's experienced with the 5R55E. Unless someone offers them...- tweeeeka

Rebuilding a 5R55E, upgrades?
It's mostly only seen soccer-mom type use. Although the streets here in San Francisco are worse than the trails and ranch roads we use in my Bronco(thats our off road vehicle). And my sister has a LEAD FOOT which she acquired driving her first truck, a 83 K5 4x4 Blazer with a 6.2L diesel. I...- tweeeeka

Rebuilding a 5R55E, upgrades?
Driving my sister's 97 4.0 SOHC 5r55e equipped ex sport today and let it coast for a second and ZZZZZZZZZZZZ! The Tourque converter won't unlock. Since the truck's got 108k miles on it I figure I'll get the tranny rebuilt while its out. What upgrades/ford revisions should I have put in while...- tweeeeka

Rocking power driver's seat.
It doesn't matter if the front of the seat is lowered or raised. Tried putting the seat in as many positions as I could to see if it would go away but, anytime the rear of the seat is raised off its lowest position it makes the seat rock.- tweeeeka

Rocking power driver's seat.
Did a search but didn't find what I was looking for. This is in my sister's 97 sport with the power driver's seat. The problem is that when the rear of the seat is raised from its lowest position it has slack in it that causes the seat to rock. When I sit in it I put the rear of the seat all the...- tweeeeka

Help me decide which shocks
This is for my sister's 97 sport 4wd. My whole family drives extremely aggressively. The truck will see mostly highway and rough city streets. These shocks need to last for a long time because my sister won't even think about them unless they do something drastic to attract her attention. We...- tweeeeka

Buying a '97 X sport. Things to look out for?
Looking at a 97 explorer sport today with a 4.0 SOHC and automatic tranny. It's a beatuiful car with only 69,000 miles on it, and all the options. It's going to be for my sister, finally replacing her P.O.S. 83 6.2 liter diesel blazer (the only non ford in the family). The dealer wants $11,881...- tweeeeka
