WHoa!....I guess I feel a lil better if that's possible after shelling out over a grand on something. Still haven't seen the bill yet though ......:( .....Anyways, as long as my truck is running better than it has been lately and can last another couple years til I get a new car. Peace. comy- combsone

Is this from a bad head gasket?
How much does it usually run at the avg shop if you had a bad head gasket and 2 bad cylinder heads?? I know very little about cars but my mechanic says it might run around a lil over $1000...like $1200-1300... is this the typical cost? He showed me what happened and two of the cylinders were...- combsone

Alternator trouble
Update: I went back to my mechanic the next day and he swapped the smaller pulley out for me and upgraded the alt wire to 4 gauge (he sanded the power ring down to fit). Everything worked fine and I didn't have to get a smaller belt w/ the smaller pulley. But the next morning, after I started...- combsone

alternator trouble
Thanks for the help....I already have a cap, redtop....Hope its not the alt.... For the ring terminals, the hole sizes are not the problem...They fit on the bolt just fine....It's just the rest of the terminals are just too big and they hit the protruded pieces that surround the bolt on the...- combsone

alternator trouble
I just had a 200amp alternator installed yesterday. Thus far, it seems to be putting out less than my stock (95a?) alt. Everything is fine during driving and even @ idle w/ the car in park. But when I get to a light and have to stay on the brakes, the battery gauge goes all the way down to...- combsone

Which alt should I get?
I'm looking into upgrading my alt (stock 90amps) due to my system running 1300+ watts. My friend told me he could hook me up w/ a good deal on an alternator. Which one should I get provided that I am not upgrading my system in the future??? Reasons?? Thanks. 160amps (up to 100@idle) - $142...- combsone

Help w/ running power wire
Ok, i found the grommet in the firewall running my 4 gauge. I plan on running 1/0 gauge wire now so I'm probably going to have to make the hole bigger which is not a problem. But how should I run the wire through the hole??? Should I run the wire from the inside of the car out to the engine...- combsone
