Oil cooler question
I have a 1998 XLT SOHC. I am very new to these vehicles and trying to learn as much as possible. Is that an oil cooler in front of the radiator? Since I bought the truck used, is that a stock part or after market?? Thanks!- Bumper

High Mileage SOHC
Since the OHV 4.0 and the V8 5.0 have proven themselves to be long lived engines, what can we expect after a few years with the SOHC? Who has the highest mileage on a SOHC and what have been your major problems, specifially with the engine?- Bumper

My X wears pantyhose!
I put some of my wifes pantyhose on my KKM filter to act as a "prefilter" and it seems to a very cheap and effective solution to commercially made prefilters. I just cut off the foot part of the pantyhose, used some K and N filter oil and slipped it over the cone. I also used a zip tie around...- Bumper

Sale at Costco!
Well I hope that Costco doesn't give me any trouble about mounting the Duelers as they are the exact same size as stock. I did not check to see the PSI but if it exceeds stock I will cross my heart and promise them that I will never exceed the recommended psi from Ford.- Bumper

Sale at Costco!
You get $60 dollars off any set of Michelins or Bridgestones. I just bought a set of Bridgestone Dueler A/T p235/75/15 for $317 including tax, installation and disposal. Also includes lifetime rotation, balancing and flat fix for free! I think its a great deal!- Bumper

Prefilters and KKM
Does anyone have any experience with using prefilters on the KKM cone to trap more fine particle dirt while off road? If so, where did you get the prefilter and how much was it? I have heard of people using pantyhose cut down to cover the KKM, does this sound like a viable solution or will it...- Bumper

XLT options question?
I recently purchased a 1998 Explorer XLT and love the vehicle. I was wondering, how come my vehicle doesn't have the overhead compass and thermometer or the computer on the floor with the oil life indicator, etc? Could this vehicle really be an XLS that someone rebadged as an XLT? Did I get...- Bumper

2001 Audi TT Coupe
Prices vary based on the year and condition but you can get a 2000 or 2001 for around 20K. The problem is that there aren't many around so you really need to do some looking. I love mine and would say to get one if you can. Its like driving a Carrera 4 for half the price (almost)!:D- Bumper

I am looking to purchase another X for my wife. We already have a 98 XLT, but I came accross a well kept XLS. Does anyone know what the major differences are in these trim levels?- Bumper
