Borla vs. Flowmaster
I have been extremely satisfied with my Borla (Cat-back and headers). The sound is growly, but at highway speeds, it does drone. When you really get on it, people will definitely know it is not stock. Installation was also a breeze - it fit the stock location, hangers, cat., and everything...- PeteT

Problems with Borla headers?
No problems with the Borla headers for me either - just the lost skin on my knuckles. Getting to the bolts will be the most difficult thing. A tip - remove the wheel well liners to get access to certain bolts. I think 5 hours was a better time than I made! Good luck! ------------------- PeteT

How do the Mud tires do on street?
HUMMMMMMMMM!!!!!! That's the sound of mud tread tires on the road. It IS noticeable. I have the Dunlop Mud Rovers and although I like the aggressive look and love the performance in the mud and snow, they are loud. If I knew what I knew when I bought them and weighed it against the actual off...- PeteT

Borla Header ?
My buddy put Borla Headers on his Ranger and I on my Explorer. We both thought that we screwed something up and he re-did his before realizing that the exhaust leak sound is exactly that - just a sound!- PeteT

CD player crap??
My Panasonic In dash CD/receiver craps out on me evertime I drive up to Tahoe. I think I have narrowed the cause down to when I run the heater in the truck. Suddenly the music will stop, there will be a pause, then the CD will get ejected and the disply reads Error E-2. Someone please help!- PeteT

Tor$ion Twi$t!
Gerald, I had the vehicle on a lift. As for the incident itself, actually I hung up on a rock and the only way off was a lot of horsepower in reverse. It pulled the cover partway off (tearing out the holes where the attachment bolts are located). Visually that is the only damage. I am having...- PeteT

Tor$ion Twi$t!
Thanks, Tom. The protective housing is definitely screwed. The bolt holes were ripped out and the housing is sitting skewed, but like you said, that is simply a cover and not stress related. I can't tell why the adjuster bolts won't turn - might just be the threads have stress on them. It LOOKS...- PeteT

Tor$ion Twi$t!
One reason I decided to to the TT and shackle thing was because of a recent bottoming out that happened to me. I thought that there was no damage, but as I got under the passenger side to twist those babies up, I realized that the adjust mechanism had taken a hit and the bolt is frozen! Daohh...- PeteT

Cleaning the MAF - help
Whattup Ray? Yeah I have just about 65K on it now. Which plugs and wires did you change to? I seem to remember that you posted it was a pain in the butt to change the wires out? I really want to get out to Hollister Hills, but my schedule for the next couple of weekends is pretty full.- PeteT

Cleaning the MAF - help
Thanks for the quick response! Mine is a 95 as well. Did you notice any improvement after cleaning these filaments? When you say to clean the throttle body as well, do you mean simply to spray it or is there another process?- PeteT

Cleaning the MAF - help
I am in the process of trying to improve my gas mileage. I too have dropped below 300 miles per tank (around 15mpg). I bought a can of CRC electonic cleaner for the MAF sensor, and have read about several people who have not needed to remove the whole thing to clean it - just merely shot it in...- PeteT

Fifteen shackle kits are for sale
I just bought the last pair from Desert Rat (Grey Powder coat). Gerald, why are you waiting for the gold anodized? You can't really see them under there, right? Anyway, their price went up $5 to $39.99 (plus $8 shipping).- PeteT

Fifteen shackle kits are for sale
Thanks, Gerald. Yeah I am pretty happy out here. Grew up in Minnesota in farm country, so I did a lot of four wheeling at that time. It's harder to get to out here, but then MN doesn't have an ocean or mountains either! I got a pretty good response on the shops. I knew about Four wheel parts...- PeteT

Fifteen shackle kits are for sale
Gerald, do you have a 4X4 store that would route the sale directly to members on this site since the company is not set up for direct sales? I would be interested in this product, but there isn't a store that I work closely with that I can order them through.- PeteT

Trailmaster post '95 lift
Has anybody heard any status updates on this topic? I think Rick mentioned a few posts back that they were scheduled to come out with it at the end of the summer. I am trying to decide whether to wait or just to go the torsion bar/add a leaf or shackle method.- PeteT

Tuning an amp
I installed a 200W amp to drive my front speakers and have the receiver driving the rear ones. Everything is great and the install went in without a hitch under the rear seat. The amp is Precision Power which seems like a high quality amp. The question I have is the best procedure for tuning the...- PeteT

Lifting the front of a 95 or newer Explorer..
So what is the advantage of using the shackle method over the add-a-leaf method to get the rear end up 2"? If it is obviously better to go this way, then I am interested too, Scott. Rick, all I get is a blue screen too. I read another post that said a detailed torsion bar lift procedure would...- PeteT

Gateway to the Rubicon....
You guys are killin' me! I know that it is my own fault for not being able to make any of these weekends, but it seems that timing and fate are against me! Anyway, I have to get back to the Midwest the weekend of the 17th to be a sponsor at the baptism of my brother's baby. I hope there will...- PeteT
