Hello. I am the owner of a 97 XLT, bought in the US by someone, which I bought here in Belgium. There is a safety recall on the Front stabilizer bar bolt, and mine broke today. Is the safety recall valid in europe? Can I send the bill for the repair to Ford? Just curious. Thanks. B

Hello Forum. Thank you for great answers to my earlier novice questions. I have read in the formun about switching to synthetic oil on cars with some milage. My 97 xlt SOHC has 83k miles, and I currently running on non synthetic oil. Would it be wise to change to synthetic or has it gone too...

I meant the plug for brake lights etc sorry, my question was not well put. I meant the plug that is for brake lights and turn signal on the trailer. My euro spec trailer plug does not fit my US one. Any ideas Thanks fellas charles

dear forum. On my 97 SOHC the lock function works, but the unlock does not. This must be the switch in itself or ??? what can I do to make it work? It works on the passager side. Thanks charles

Ok . I finally got my ball thing for towing. My problem is that the towing package on my X is us spec. I live in europe and the plug for brake loghts for the trailer is completely different. Anybody know if there is an adapter? Perhepas I could make if myself? I'll be grateful for any ideas...

Thank you for answering, great tip. I just went to Ford's recall site, and entered my VIN number. They then told me there were no recalls for my 97 XLT 4X4 4.0L SOHC . That sounds a little odd to me. I found a list with recalls when I entered my VIN at carfax. Any advice?
