I don't mean to be a total a$$ here, but I started this thread on help setting up an in car computer. I have stated many times that im not going use a laptop and all you guys keep telling me to use one. I know a whole top about computers and a full size computer hdd will do just fine...

The problem with a laptop is the sound card. The quality of sound from a laptop compared to a top end sound card is day and night. Maybe if i was to only run the music through a stock system or sligtly mod system, but i have a pretty high end system and i want it to sound good.

i can build a computer for probly $400 and to get a laptop to compare to that with sound quility would cost well over $1000, plus would need a bulky mount for the laptop and only have a 20 or 30 gb hard drive. Dont need a super fast machine for MP3s.

I am looking to build a computer inside my car. Build a box in front of my armrest. I was wondering if anybody has done and knew how to hook it up.

When my car is ideling, the alternator gauge goes back and forth a little, and you can here it in the engine and the lights dim. I do have a stero system, but even when its not on i have the same prob. Could it be the time for a new alternator or somthing elese.

Are you guys saying that the kkm kits arent worth getting? I just bought a k&n air filter today and I noticed a huge difference.

Do i really need to get the resinator? Will it give me better power without it? Whats the deal with those things, i had to go to a custom shop for someone to put a tail pipe on without one.

Do you have an aftermarket head unit? When I had mine put in, they informed that I had to have some more wires that needed to be run to bypass my fatory amp. The amps will only work with stock head units.

im talking the hole system. 2 cats, header(i think i priced them), muffler, and resinator.

The only reason i got that glass packs was because i was poor at the time and i didnt want to spend the grand it would cost me for a whole to flowmaster system.

i have smoked tail light covers for my truck, i like the look, but it makes backing up in the dark alittle harder but its tolerible (sp?). they are ilegall, but i have only been pulled over for them once and they didnt even do anything about it.

I will never sell my 91. that truck rules and my goal is to restore it. Probly wont be all stock, but i want it real nice and fast, but still able to take it offroad.

he has the 4.4i. He just 21s on it, the tire are real wide. they stick out past the fenders.

What engine would be better to put into a 91 X, the cobra or the 5.0 ? How much would i be looking to spend in parts for it to fit? Would i need a new trans to?

my boss has an X5, and i drove it once and have been in the car with him. I dont know how you lost dude, those things fly. He orderd a supercharger for it that boost the horse poor to over 400 horse.

Sometimes when i start my explore it seems likes its going to die, never does, then just give it some gas and its ok. The check engine light started coming on today for a little while and nothing seemed wrong. Could this be a bad cat?

I put 2 12" kicker compvr subs, and a pioneer 760 watt amp, that will run you about 450 new, not installed. i love my subs and everybody wants to buy them off me. i would go with the kickers, but a bigger amp. im upgrading to the rockford 801.
