    EGR valve/sensor? sputtering exhaust HELP!!!!!

    i have a 94 explorer sport manual trans. with 120,000 miles on it. lately, and SUDDENLY, i have noticed a "sputtering/popping" from the tailpipe. it's like the exhaust comes out in "puffs" or spurts. there is no exhaust system rattle. there is also no valve chatter or other abnormal engine...
