5.0 VS. 4.6....Better???
4.6 or 5.0 4.6 or 5.0? its obviously a matter of opinion, but i would like to clarify a few things. I am picking up my 03 explorer V8 on thursday, but have already taken it for a spin around the block a few times. With the 3.73 rear gears (because of the towing package), i think this thing...- Macdaddy71

performance mods
I am looking into an exhaust when i recieve my 03 V8, because you can hardly hear anything that sounds like a V8 unless you really step on it, anyway i know borla makes a cat back system. Should i go for it or get a custom job, has to be stainless obviously. Also i know that a bunch of...- Macdaddy71

need help with IAC symptoms
maybe not IAC i work as a tech at a ford dealer, and what you are talking about doesn't sound like it would be from the IAC, because i've worked on several sohc explorers and a few windstars that the whistling noise is actually from the plastic intake manifold itself, like a rough edge on the...- Macdaddy71

opinions
i would like to hear some opinions on bosch +4 plugs, jet chips, k+n filters (just the filter not the intake), and aftermarket MAFs. just curious in case i want to put them in my 03 V8- Macdaddy71

03 explorer (once again)
coil overs i forgot to meantion, the 02's have coilovers at all four corners. so i don't think that the adjustable jeep coil spacers will work.- Macdaddy71

03 explorer (once again)
easiest way i think that the easiest way would be coil spacers to lift the 02 and above explorers, a good sized spacer for the fronts because the car is slightly lower up front, and a smaller on for the rears, because i looked today and found that while on a lift the 02's have about an inch of...- Macdaddy71

03 explorer (once again)
SOHC V6 The SOHC V6 is not a good motor in my opinion because they are not durable, and in certain situations it doesn't matter how well you maintain them, they could still potentially go apeshit at about 80K, (don't flip out at me if you have a SOHC motor with more than that, their are always...- Macdaddy71

03 explorer (once again)
i forgot to mention before, i am a tech at a Ford dealership, and i have worked on many old and new explorers. Anyway, i have examined the suspensions on the 02 and up explorers and still think that a slight suspension lift is possible, not anything bigger than 2 inches, but on top of that a...- Macdaddy71

03 Explorer 4-dr
I am going to recieve an 03 explorer V8 in october, and although it is coming with an off-road package (skid plates, tow hooks, different wheels and tires, shocks, etc.) it is a new package specific to the 03's. Anyway I would like to know if anyone has heard of lift kits coming out for the new...- Macdaddy71
