Front & rear differential fluids
I ran amsoil 85-140 if I remember correctly in my camaro. You can find straight 140w also. Is there any benefit to running the thinner oil? I would assume if the thicker oil makes sense in a muscle car it would make even more sense in a truck.- 02gixxersix

Cutting out cats vs. High flow cat
It's so funny coming from a Camaro forum where everyone is all about going off-road y-pipe to here where everyone seems really serious about the smog thing. My car bows a little bit of smoke as it is so I doubt tearing off the cats would make much difference. I think I might actually cut them...- 02gixxersix

4X4 problem.....motor works but won't engage
I said the driveshaft is locking, in that once I try to engage the 4x4 i can no longer turn the driveshaft by hand. However, when I step on the gas only the back wheels are being powered. I'm gonna give that axle turning thing a try tomorrow. Thanks guys.- 02gixxersix

4X4 problem.....motor works but won't engage
I read that and was on my way to take it off when I decided to try the hammer thing one more time, but wouldn't the need for a shift motor rebuild indicate that it's not acutating. The motor is turning and locking the driveshaft, but the driveshaft is not turning. I'll try to fluid thing first.- 02gixxersix

4X4 problem.....motor works but won't engage
Okay when I bought my 94 sport the guy said that last year the 4x4 worked but it wouldn't work when I test drove it. It's in great shape and I only paid $700 for it so I wasn't complaining. Yesterday I hit the shift motor with a hammer and got the motor to move (at least it sounds like it's...- 02gixxersix

Keep Stock Head Unit & Install Aftermarket Speakers in Stock Holes
I just think the amplifiers are crap. I just bypassed mine but it's also a lot older. I mean if you really don't care too much about sound quality and control then the factory HU is fine, but for $200 I just got a new Pinoeer DEH-P6900UB and it controls the Ipod through a USB connection and...- 02gixxersix

Keep Stock Head Unit & Install Aftermarket Speakers in Stock Holes
To get a good sound you're going to need an aftermarket Head Unit, Aftermarket amplifier, and an aftermarket sub. Honestly unless you go bigger on the subs and they overpower your mids and highs, you will probably get a decent sound out of your stock speakers with a good aftermarket HU. You...- 02gixxersix

Mixing different Sub sizes??
There's no reason that you can mix sub sizes but I would make sure they are divided in the enclosure or else the box obviously won;t be built to specs. A ported box is much louder than a sealed box but has the added advantage of being able to be tuned to your liking. You can tune low and get...- 02gixxersix

95 - No Brake lights, not switch or fuses
How do you know your switch is fine? I just had the same problem with mine and the switch looked fine even when I pulled it off. It was only $7 at advance so I would give it a shot.- 02gixxersix

Seafoam actually sucks?!?!
Yeah when I seafoamed my Camaro and my wife's Trailblazer I got a little smoke but not much. When I seafoamed my 1989 Nissan Pickup with 253k miles it smoked for a half hour like I have never seen before. Almost looked like I was just a brake stand for that entire time. I just did my new...- 02gixxersix
