Any way to extract vehicle speed info?
Am I the only one that noticed that she had the cruise set for 58 in a 55? So regardless, she was still breaking the law. Pay the ticket and move on.- sqwirl

MFT v3.6.2 is now available
XLT w/ tow, no blis or active park, straight lines. This update made life with MFT so much better for me. My biggest annoyance before was having to turn the key to on, wait for audio to start playing before starting the car. If I didn't do this, 9 times out of 10 the audio would be hard off...- sqwirl

Gear selection questions and transmission programming observations
I have the same annoyance in a '13 XLT. Mine doesn't ever feel like it pulls from a stop in 2nd though. It does however not downshift near enough when slowing down for say someone turning in front of you below 20mph. It's either accelerate at a snails pace, punch it and completely...- sqwirl

Explorer Maintenance Website GONE?!? (www.glue.umd.edu/~singletn/exp.html)
I noticed this a few days again and wondered what was up but forgot completely about it. Hopefully the person who ran it has everything backed up locally and could upload them to a different website if need be. Im guessing they were student/faculty at university of maryland and they are no...- sqwirl

Driver's Seat Moving.....getting really annoying
Ill toss my name in here on the it does it except when fully down list. I'm pretty sure I had the bolt recall done too. I can't remember though. I ripped the seat out one day and tried to locate it but it takes a good bit of force to make it move so I gave up. Maybe Ill rip my seat out again...- sqwirl

Rear Wiper not working.
This is kinda a temporary ghetto fix but it works for me. If it works for you I don't know but its worth a try :P When I got my 98 the rear wiper worked just fine... then about 3 months later I went to turn it on one day and it didnt work. A few days later I checked the relay and fuses and they...- sqwirl

New brakes rusting already? Something is weird...
The Plasti-kote paint(if you bought the hi temp black in the orange can like i did) is the kind that has to be baked on after you paint. You probably did the same thing as me and neglected the instructions and went to town with it. CURING: Allow 60 minutes airdry then cure by baking for 60...- sqwirl

Dead LCD in stock HU
Well yesterday the LCD went out in my stock HU. All the other lights still function though. Its the double media version out of a 98 sport. Anyone know if there is a fuse inside the HU that the lcd runs off of that could possibly be the cause of this. Its a real pain in the ass not knowing whats...- sqwirl

Greasing the slip yoke: How-to
I did the same procedure to mine after developing the bumping while stopping except I did use heavy grease. Can't remember what kind exactly. I couldnt get the bolts off the driveshaft easily so I just gave up and did it the ghetto way. I got a grease gun that shot out a small stream instead of...- sqwirl

If only they sold these in the US
The cost of that kit is just the body kit. The stock 206 is a turd just like the stock focus. So you'd be all show and no go. No matter how it looks on the outside you still have a 110hp FWD econobox not an AWD 400+hp rallye mobile. I'd love a WRC focus but I don't think I will be able to afford...- sqwirl

anyone done a trap door for the fuel pump on a 1st gen?
I cut one in my focus when I had it. Anyone familiar with them knows about the fuel pump problems in the early models and how hard it is to drop the tank. Anyways I used a dremel tool with a heavy duty cut off wheel. I went through about 7 wheels to cut a 10"10" hole. I think the safety factor...- sqwirl

Yeah I'm out. Thanks to everyone in the chat for their helpful advice and all even though I got bitter and called them all "armchair quarterbacks". Gotta understand though where I was coming from though. Anyways after I get home from work I'll post a nice long write up about the whole ordeal . -

At wits end
I have the same whirring noise as you. At first it only happened everyone once and a great while. Now it is happening every few days. Very annoying. The truck drives fine though so I'm not gonna go dumping money into finding out what it is until something breaks. The noise sounds like its coming...- sqwirl
